Maybe you should get a pocket gun. Just something to slip into your pocket when you're hanging around the house or otherwise "not carrying". My wife is not really a gun person either, so I try to avoid making her wait on me by slipping my LCP or G26 into a pocket if I'm in a hurry.

You make a very good point. I think that the issue is that I am delaying her with something that she could care less about. We both have very long days with work and kids activities, so my toys mean nothing to her when she is tired/sleepy.

Not quite 20 years for me but I live in that world too.

All we can do is take each day as it comes. A few days ago my wife took offense to a comment I made about her sister, never mind that the comment was only made in agreement with something she had just said. It caused a big ole argument and I could not figure out just why?

Today she went to her Doc and ended up being admitted to the Hosp with possible pneumonia which she seems to get every few years about this time of year. Now I know why she was so argumentative over a simple comment that was made in agreement....She simply did not feel well.

Kimber Chick probably has it right in that it is something else that is bothering her and has nothing to do with your carrying or not.

I hope that your wife gets well soon. I know that my wife is dog tired, but you know how they are about the kids. She will not miss a moment of anything that they are involved in.

One question I have is where are you going on a repeat basis that prohibits carry? If you are concerned about the family's safety do you have to keep taking your family there?

Of course, if it is somewhere that his wife wants to go and he refuses because they prohibit carry then she will possibly be really mad.

My wife is not anti. In fact, she has her HCP and we have a Kel Tec .32 in layaway for her to have a small, light weapon that she will actually carry and can shoot quite well. She simply doesn't take the whole thing as seriously as I do. I recently said something about not caring if I never set foot in a particular restaurant, again, because they are posted. Her response was something along the lines of, "Thanks for making decisions for me, too." I told her that if she wants to go to that or another posted restaurant that badly, fine - I'd go - but she'd never, ever hear me suggest going there and that I'd just as soon not even though I really like their food.

Different kids activities and schools. We have games/ meetings, and sometimes we go to dinner afterwards if time allows. With the change of season it is usually dark and late when we get home.

So... let's get our story straight. You need to buy a new pocket gun so your strap-on rig doesn't cause unnecessary delays. This isn't turning out so bad at all. :P

Hmm... Sounds like something like this might save you some wear and tear on your nerves... Hers too.

HalfFinishedHolster.jpg

BTW, the holster is only about half finished... It's only glued closed at the moment, and still needs to be stitched and have the edges finished. Still, even for that it functions just fine and is always in my pocket any time I go out the door.

It's sort of like my wallet and knife, in that regard. I just don't leave the house without 'em.

Maybe one'a these days I'll get around to finishing it...

Oh, it's not a BUG... it's an ALWAYS.

Big difference. :P

"You can call it paranoid, overly carefuL" Sorry, but overly careful is not forgetting your weapon. Quit forgetting to do what you are responsible for remembering.

Yeah...just using that "analogy" for making my point, Jamie.

I ALWAYS carry my NAA .22 magnum too...just like that old commercial on t.v. used to say...don't leave home without it...

You can't beat 'em for concealability.

I figured you knew, but I wanted to make sure other folks here understood.

BUGS are always in support of something else... usually something viewed as "better". But with that gun, well, it may very well be what I shoot a trouble-maker with while their attention is on something else... like a bigger gun on my hip, etc.

( An example of what I'm meaning here would involve the fellow in my avatar there, and the movie Tombstone. Y'all remember what happened to Ed Baily, there at the beginning of the movie? T'weren't Doc's guns - the obvious threat - that proved to be his undoing... :) )

In other words, it's as much a primary weapon as anything else I may be carrying. And as I mentioned, it's always there.

Anyway, sorry to derail the thread... just thought I'd elaborate a bit on my theory and opinion on small, easily-concealed weapons.
