Nice to meet you, mbushell. Right now we're looking at the weekend of March 4th through the 6th. Guardlobo is still waiting to hear back from a friend who has property we may be able to use. Good to see so many survivalists willing to share their knowledge. I am new but I read a lot, catch on fast, and have a willingness to learn.

"Clasickbass" I was a pro bassist for about five years in my early 20's. Not a great gig but it was a living

Pro bassist as in musician or as in angler? I play electric bass, mostly classical stuff, hence the name. I have been sidelined from it for almost 3 months now but can't wait to get back to it.

PM Guardlobo, it may not be too late to change the date. As I believe he is still waiting on a contact to get back to him.

As of right now I am planning to post final info on Monday.

All interested parties, please PM me with:

1. Whether you are providing your own survival kit or if you want to buy one for $20.

2. Whether you have your own knife or want to borrow/buy one.

3. What time you plan on arriving and leaving (available from 7pm Friday-5pm Sunday)

4. Whether you want to:

a. Have me provide your meals at $3 each.

b. Bring your own food.

c. Live off the land and bring your own emergency supply.

5. A favorite topic you would like to teach (i.e. fire building, edible plants, etc) or if you just want to learn.

Thank you and I look forward to a great weekend (3/4-3/6/11)

The trip went great. Only three people showed up, but the participants learned a lot and I think it was worth the effort. I was going to do it again this weekend, but couldn't get the time needed. I'll try to get off work and do this again sometime in the next few weeks.

I'm looking forward to going on one of these trips after I get settled in TN. It'll be a drive to get there but looks well worth the effort.
