Well looking at the proposed Charter Section 12.05 that the winning of the October 2011 Memphis City Mayoral election will serve as the new Metro Mayor until 2014 when the 1st official Metro Mayoral election will be held. Now we see why Luttrell is not liking this idea haha

If the city folks are so concerned over the wastefulness of two supposedly duplicate governments, all they have to do is surrender the city charter. The whole county instantly has one goverment.

Seriously doubt this passes. Too many non-city folks see this as the slippery slope that it is.

Well upon further review it appears the Metro Charter doesnt go into full effect until after the 2014 election so I dont see why they needed to go into such great detail about the Memphis mayoral position yet no mention of the county mayor election???
