No such thing as a shovel-ready project

Now that BHO realizes that there is no such thing as a shovel-ready project, I wonder if he will ever realize that there is no such thing as a free lunch?

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"He let himself look too much like "the same old tax-and-spend liberal Democrat." He realized too late that "there's no such thing as shovel-ready projects" when it comes to public works. Perhaps he should not have proposed tax breaks as part of his stimulus and instead "let the Republicans insist on the tax cuts" so it could be seen as a bipartisan compromise."

...

""we probably spent much more time trying to get the policy right than trying to get the politics right."

...

"That's a refrain heard inside the White House as well: it's a communication problem. The first refuge of any politician in trouble is that it's a communication problem, not a policy problem. If only I explained what I was doing better, the people would be more supportive. Which roughly translates to If only you people paid attention, you wouldn't be kicking me upside the head. Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, laughed at the ever-ready assumption that all problems stem from poor communication. "I haven't been at a policy-problem meeting in 20 months," he noted."

After BHO flew around the nation giving a record number of tedious hackneyed populist speeches for 18 months, the failure is one of communication?

What we have here is a failure to communicate!

ObamaNomics: Too Complex for Ordinary Americans to Grasp?

"Joe Biden, the man who saved the Vice Presidency from the ravages of intellectual decimation threatened by the candidacy of Sarah Palin, has put his superior intellect to work in explaining why Democrats are not running on the achievements of the Obama administration."

"According to Biden, the issues involved are simply too complex for the ordinary man and woman to grasp."

"As reported, in part:"

"Democrats aren't running on the administration's accomplishments like health-care and financial-regulatory overhaul and the stimulus because "it's just too hard to explain," Biden said. "It sort of a branding, I mean you know they kind of want the branding more at the front end."

"Less bad is never good enough," Biden said in an interview on board Air Force Two on Oct. 8, the same day that Labor Department figures showed the jobless rate held steady at 9.6 percent in September, the last yardstick before voters in the Nov. 2 elections determine which party controls Congress."

"With unemployment topping 9.5 percent for 14 straight months, Biden is having difficulty trumpeting the 3.3 million jobs created or saved by the White House's economic stimulus."

"It's just really hard to convince people that when there weren't, up until the first of the year, when there weren't net new jobs it's awful hard to say, ‘It's working,'" he said at the end of a three-state campaign swing Oct. 7-8 for four Democratic candidates in Wisconsin, Missouri, and Washington. "It's counterintuitive."

"With all due respect Mr. Vice-President, the American people are not complete idiots, contrary to the opinions of Democrats and the leftist media."

"Americans are in the mood for revolution because it is clear that no one in the administration, particularly Barack Obama, has a clue about what works and what does not work in fixing a battered economy."

"Americans intuitively know that Obama's formula of more federal spending, higher taxes, more big government meddling, and anti-business policies do NOT promote economic growth or prosperity."

Wow, it was difficult to read that Canada free press drivel and keep my breakfast down. I'm guessing the author has a life sized Joe Biden cardboard cutout in his bedroom in front of which he kneels to pray 5 times daily.

I think the Canada Free Press guy is writing +18 dBu in the red with sarcasm. Don't think he is complimenting Biden. But could be mistaken.

I agree with Lester about the sarcasm.

Interesting he mentioned us ready

for a revolution over Obama's

policies. Maybe he is on to something.

She wore him out in the debate.

the stimulus package was greatly mis-named - it was more like, give the states a pass this year by giving them aid package. The claim is the "stimulus" "saved" thousands of police, fire, emt, and teacher jobs. IF this is the case, they wont have a job next year, as there will be no more "stimulus"... And the economy will tank again, prolonging the great recession...

To that I say this, as soon as I am employed, I will think I am out of the recession...
