Alamo Steak House, in the Carry Prohibited Locations. I have to comment

How can the owner of a place called Alamo Steak House post. Seriously. ;)

You would think of all freaking places that would open. If owned a Steak House with that Name I think I would run specials for those that open carry. (Not on alcohol). I would find something though.

I have never been to the Alamo Steak house but I get the feeling it is probably a Texas Theme?

If it is a Texas theme, maybe country western and in some part themed on The Alamo in Texas, by posting it, to me they are using the name in vain. Dishonoring everyone that fought and died defending the Alamo.

Can you say corporate restaurant... and headquarters makes the rules

Only ever ate there once and that was a few years back, before I even had my HCP. Haven't been back. It was overpriced for what we got and the steak would have been unimpressive at half the cost. I'm not sure I'd ever eat there, again, even if they put up a "HCP holders welcomed" sign and rolled out the red carpet. Seriously.

Here is a page that has a text version of their menu at the bottom (don't know how old this is - prices may be higher, now):

Alamo Steakhouse And Saloon Pigeon Forge TN FULL MENU (865) 908-9998

Notice that they call their side dishes 'sidearms'. Lame and ironic all at the same time.

The steaks at Ye Olde Steakhouse (not in Gatlinburg but in South Knoxville, not too far away - if you are going to spend that much at a restaurant, what's a little driving?) kick the hell out of Alamo's steaks IMO, prices are about the same (although Ye Olde does have a couple of less expensive options such as the steak on a skewer) and Ye Olde isn't posted (or at least it wasn't when I was there a couple of months ago.)

Interesting comments Jab, especially about the sides being side arms. I am closer to Knoxville anyways

Funny thing is, I am actually going to find my self in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in a couple weeks. From what I am seeing, I might need to plan ahead of time as it seems allot of places down there might be posted.

My wife is starting to come around to my line of thinking I am not going to spend money at a business that posts if I can avoid it. I will not be leaving a gun un protected in the car either.

There is a picture of John Wayne on the wall. Yes it is a Texas/Western theme. I ate there last weekend and have been there in the past. The food is pretty good but expensive. Our bill was over $120 with no alcohol. It's also easy to get to and there is actually parking on site.

I noticed the sign just as I was walking in. I was carrying, conceled to the point the people I was with (including my wife) didn't know and I was riding in someone else's vehicle. This put me in a very awkward position since I would have had to ask the owner of vehicle for the keys in order to disarm. I just decided to put my hand in my pocket and then lay a napkin across my waist.
