PA M4 v PA Microdot

After reading numerous positive reviews I have decided on a Primary Arms red dot. Here is my question, what is the functional difference between the microdot and the m4 style sights? I understand the physical differences, but how does that translate into usage? I have never used any type of RDS before so it is all new to me.

I have an M4 on my AR. Biggest difference I can see is the battery type. The M4 uses a AA, and I like that. It also appears the Micro doesn't have any reticle choices. i like the multiple reticles on the M4 as well.

What's the battery life like with the AA battery? I'm kinda split. I like the option of multiple reticles, but I don't want to be constantly replacing the battery. The new gen 6 micro dot has an advertised battery life of 1000 hrs on 1 cr2302.

I can't remember how long I have had my M4 but I have yet to replace the battery. I know I have had it long over a year, maybe over two.

@Pun, guess I should have looked harder at the site, lol

:up:Thanks for the input all. Looks like I will be ordering the M4.

I don't think you'll be sorry. The controls are also easier to deal with than any of my other red dots
