By: David Halbertson

First Run:1964,

Its his first hand account of the events unfolding "behind the veil" as i like to say. All about "cold war era" posturing and duking it out between the US and Communism fighting for post Colonial WWI WWII era controll of the world. A glimpse at least, haven't finishd it yet.

Got me interested. Take a look here at Alibris. Here is the link: Alibris: the making of a quagmire

I'll order it up pretty soon. I'm old enough to remember some of this.

In the same vein titled "War is a Racket" by Smedley Butler, Old Corps Marine and USMC Retired Major General. Here is the Alibris link:Alibris: war is a racket.

Butler was a two-time Congressional Medal of Honor winner and Major General in the Marine Corps. I believe he was the most highly decorated Marine in history. Won the medals in the "Banana Wars. Bio link here: Smedley Butler - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Check out this link for a speech exerpt: Smedley Butler on Interventionism.

Dont necessarily agree with everything he said; but his views ought to be heard and thought on.

Keep up the good work.

Kind regards.

Holy crap! I would say that guy qualifies as an ex-pat(Mr. Butler) Funny he mentioned Nicaragiua, I have just started to dig into the history of our involvement there and it is very disturbing to say the least. Glad You have an interest in The Book, I stumbled across it at a gun show. It is compelling history, makes one hungry for more.
