I sandwich the slide between a couple peices of wood in a vise. Then tap out old sight with wood block and hammer. Put the new one in the same way and measure with a caliper to make sure it's centered.

Some roll there eyes at it but works well for me and I havn't screwed up anything yet.

Just be gentle

I have a Uni-Tool 200L from Black Weapons Armory. They are a little more than the Glock tool, but it is rock solid, and will work on just about any front or rear sight, angle sides or straight sides. I can change out a Glock rear sight in about two minutes from start to finish.

I've used it on Glock, Ruger, and SIG so far. I couldn't find anyone within an hour of here that had one, so I bought my own. Yeah, they are expensive, but I will often take more than one pistol to the range, and I wanted to be able to adjust the sights whenever I needed to. I hate depending on other people.
