Gotta have my Large McDonalds coffee. I can't stand Starbucks or any other fancy wallet steeling place that sells coffee. Oh ya, Duncan Doughnuts coffee is ok too.

I used to be a coffee snob when I lived in Oregon - there's a different coffee place on every corner up there. Now it's Kroger brand breakfast blend each day before I start moving around much.

Anyone else use a vacuum coffee maker? I love mine, and it makes excellent coffee.

Seattle's Best, which is unfortunately owned by Starbucks, now. My wife

converted me from the cheapest minit mart coffee years ago.

And it has been, for a long time: no coffee, no function.

I get my free coffee from Starbucks right after I vote.

Having lived in Europe, I find I prefer the richer, darker roasts...but hard to find anything I like alot here. At one time I was ordering from Gevalia. When buying American I usually end up getting the Kroger Italian roast due to its price and ready availablility, but have recently discovered one called Bustelo, that is a dark, expresso roast, very finely ground, that I like. I may end up sticking with that for a while.

+++++ I drink the stuff 24/7 with a little tea or a few brews thrown in but mostly coffee all day, everyday, who's cares the season. Drink it black, w/sugar, w/cream, w/ sugar and cream sometimes I even put creamer and orange juice in there. I have a major addiction and it's been that way since I was 4 years old. I just can't drink it real strong because I drink so much it'll lead to serious reflux if I do. I must go refill my mug, now.

That's okay... It took me getting to my second cup before I figured out JPS wasn't talking about making coffee in the vacuum cleaner, up there in post #52...

And yes, programmable coffee makers are wonderful; they keep me from trying to make coffee in the wrong appliance, among other things.

I'm not a morning wake me up coffee drinker. For me coffee is a social drink. I enjoy hanging out in a local coffee shop that has excellent coffee and better conversation. My favorite local shop Memphis Brew serves coffee roasted by High Point Roasters out of Oxford, MS. REALLY great stuff, It is well worth an order.

Maybe because you don't have enough imagination to visualize me trying to make coffee in the toaster...

Oh, and I have made coffee in the microwave before, when the coffee maker died unexpectedly. You just have to tie it up real tight in the filter, or be prepared to chew a cup of the stuff.

... I've since learned to keep an old-style coffee pot around, in case of emergencies.

BUSTELO!! Used to be I could only find that at the little meximarts in my hood. Most of the grocery stores have it now. It's the only pre-ground coffee I'll buy.

I have a buddy who likes his coffee really hot. He'll brew a pot, pour up a piping hot mug full just as soon as it if finished brewing then put it in the microwave on 'high' for a full minute, take it out and immediately start drinking it.

I really appreciate the way Starbucks has handled the carry issue. I spend some money with them just because of that, even if it is a little crispy.

That's what my wife has been buying for the last couple of years. Aint' too bad in my opinion. Of course, I'm not too picky with coffee. I guess all the years of midnight patrol drinking 8 hour old Mapco coffee widened my tastes.

I'm pretty sure you read it right... he probably does make his coffee in the vacuum cleaner. People like that shouldn't be trusted.

You know, if you made good coffee and charged a reasonable price, I have no doubt you'd have a successful venture. Hell, if bad coffee at high prices has been successful...

For those in Nashville, there's a great new coffee shop at Trousdale and Backman in Crieve Hall called Roast. It's owned and run by a husband and wife who have a passion for good coffee. They do all their own roasting onsite, and are super nice. I've got a definite soft spot for the small business guy who thinks they can do it better than the big guys and decide to make a run at it.

I'll drink Starbucks, but usually regret it. I don't know what they put in their coffee, but whatever it is, it goes through my colon like a freight train.

I just discovered ROAST a month ago. I'm in the Creive Hall area by the Travellers rest. Good joe there. A little pricey. My standby is some good old Sumatran from Costco. Hard to beat for $9 bucks per 2 lb bag.
