Rule #23: Never mess with a Marine's coffee if you want to live . . .

Any other dedicated coffee drinkers here? I don't mean like, ;) "I wake up and have a cup while I watch the news." I mean like, :) "If I don't have my coffee RIGHT NOW, the world as we know it shall cease to exist--because I will make it so."

Just wondering if anybody else has a favorite brew, and what that might be. Personally, I'm a fan of dark roasts, but lately I've taken to drinking something the boss brought in at work, some kind of "Mocha Nut Fudge" stuff . . . In defense of my Man Card, I drink pretty much all coffee black, no sugar -- after all, the only things good coffee should ever need are Bailey's and more coffee.

Halfpint... Man card coffee requirement #2...the inside of your coffee MUG...not cup... should have the beginnings of a good coffee "stain"...especially if you're one of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. If you want to try some really good coffee...you need to check out some Peet's coffee...it blows Starbuck's away like a BARRETT 50 does a Taliban...or if you can afford it on your meager military pay...some KONA Coffee

Coffee is Life.

My employees have been well trained over the years. They know not to try talking to the boss unless I've got a cup of coffee in my hand.

I'm a big fan of dark italian roasts. I've been using the coffee roasted by Portland Brew - a local roaster here in Nashville.

Prepared in a french press to exacting standards... it creates a brew that is at once smooth and eye popping strong.

Wonderful stuff. Think I'll go fix myself another pot.

I'm sorry, but if "fudge" is anywhere in your coffee name, you can drink strained through a used oil filter and you still forfeit your man card. :D

Kona is good and some of the smoothest I've tried, but to me it lacks flavor. For my money it doesn't get any better than Ethiopian. It's where coffee originated and they do coffee like the French and Italians do wine. It is no joke to them. After that, some Brazilian or Sumatran are also pretty good staples.

A++++

Coke Zero or if they don't have coke products whereever I happen to be I will get Diet pepsi.

I only drink coffee on guard duty or if its mixed in with ice.

What the hell are you guarding, Tosten?

Fire up then expresso machine with some Lavazza Italian Coffee.

It's real simple: I get a cup of coffee and a cig before anything else happens, when I get up in the morning.

There is no other alternative. It's not negotiable, and there is no "what if".

End of discussion.

Oh, and I don't have a favorite, 'cept it has to be plain ol' coffee. Nothing with any fru-fru flavorings, and certainly no "designer" or specialty coffee.

I don't drink coffee very often. It isn't that I don't like it it is that I like it too much. If I have a cup, I'll usually end up drinking a whole, damn pot. Combine that with the fact that coffee and my stomach don't always get along and that road can lead to pain.

That said, I am man enough to admit that when I drink it I like my coffee with plenty of cream or milk and sugar. It doesn't seem to anger my stomach quite so much that way. Plain coffee is okay but I prefer the hazlenut flavored stuff - with 8 0'Clock being right up there with the more expensive brands for flavor, IMO. I usually make coffee really strong so that the flavor will stand up to the aforementioned cream/milk and sugar. On the rare occasion that I give in and have coffee, my favorite ways to brew it are 1) in an old, electric perk style perculator or 2)in an even older style, non-self heating coffee pot sitting over a campfire on on a stove eye.

Usually, though, if I want a warm beverage I tend more toward Earl Grey tea. Like coffee, I like it brewed extra strong with just a bit of cream and sugar (not as much as I use for coffee.)

Coke Zero FTW.

Oh, not into flavored coffees but I do put Splenda and a touch of creamer in mine.

I can't do StarBURNT's coffee much, it takes too much cream and sugar to make it palatable. I like dark roasted stuff, but there's a difference between dark and left in the roaster too long.

Ugly Mug is good stuff, but it's a local brand so I can't find it everywhere.

The one thing that starts my day off completely wrong is when I get to work and I get something that's gotta go out like, yesterday, before I've made a 20oz. cup of the office gruel. I'm pretty heinous until I get all geezed up on caffeine, lol.
