Giant So. Illinois Archery Typical: 3.5 Years Old, 184"

Mike, a friend's, friend's cousin in So. Illinois shot this dandy this year........ these guys know BIG DEER on a level I only dream off and aspire to. Great deer, but I don't have the hunter's name.

Southern Illinois hunter passed this deer twice last year as a 2.5 year old 170-class 10. He couldn't let him walk this year at 3.5 stating, "I haven't reached the stage of a big buck hunter where I let 180 class deer walk".

He saw the deer 4 evening hunts in a row and finally got set up within 40 yds of his path and killed him on the 4th night. Gross was 184.

Deer of a lifetime, couldn't imagine letting a 184" walk to let him get to 4 or 5 years old. Enjoy

Flatlander

My Lord, what a beautiful animal, one of the most impressive 3.5 year old deer you will ever see.

If I saw a deer like that in TN I would probably pass on it thinking it was one of the Elk they have been releasing. Illinois just has the right soil nutrients to grow 'em big like nowhere else in the country that is for sure.

Great Deer, but to me just looking at his head structure it looks to be older than 3.5. But either way I would have missed a shot because of buck fever for sure.

Son, how did you hit this deer? It ran out in front of me an I hit it! But you crossed a ditch and are 100 yards out in this field???? Weird!

Got a friend that hunts up there killed a bunch.
