Nice I used to have a 84 750 Interceptor, I traded it for a new 03 ZZR1200 in 05, and then in 08 I thought I wanted a cruiser and sold the 03 and bought a 05 Mean Streak . Two and a half months later I sold the Mean Streak and bought the 05 ZZR1200 I have now.

ok this is crazy I just installed a new grip...and now the the saftey doesn't work correctly. I can change from safe to fire but not back again unless I remove the grip. It has the spring and the detent installed but it's like its going too far??????? doesn't work with either grip now?

After you re install the detent and spring and grip

Pull the hammer down to the cocked position and then try it.

The safety only works when cocked

if it is cocked and I install the grip. it will go from safe to fire but not back to safe. If I back the grip off about 1/8" it will function....? I didn't do anything but remove the old grip and replace it with the new one. I even tried the old one again no luck?????????????

ahhh

Do you have your grip screw washer in place?

The grip bolt might be a bit to long and hitting the back of the trigger

no, I know that it will only go on safe if cocked, but it will not go back on safe if cocked of not.......it acts like it's not cocked even when it is....it's a brand new lower never fired. It worked before I uninstalled the grip but not atferwards. doesn't matter which grip I use (i have three). the spring is straight and I believe everything I took off(grip, spring and detent is reinstalled correctly. I called DPMS and they could not help me. I will not shoot it this way even if I could. The selector switch will not budge once turned into the fire position. I can feel the detent (slip out of the hole) as it should be working when slowly switching from safe to fire but once in "fire" it will not go back doesn't matter if it is cocked or not. It's even starting to boogering up the detent....what could it be? I've not have anything else apart.

and the washer is in place on the bolt. it only has a lock washer I even tried it just holding the grip in place(no screw). this sucks!!! it's like the detent is going in too far now.

question...with the selector removed and the detent, spring and grip in place how far should the detent stick out of the hole? it seeems like it is sticking out like 1/8" or more
