I will watch paint dry before I own Dish Network service ever again.

I got tired of talking to Gupta in New Delhi every time I had a problem. The one and only time I've ever had to contact DirecTV, I got Kelli in Lexington, KY.

I liked Kelli:love:

I had a Comcast girl here in Memphis tell me she was single once during a lengthy Internet problem conversation once. She sounded cute lol but I figured the Mrs. Might not approve.

I don't get this. It is equivilant to dropping ABC, or ESPN, USA, History Channel. What are they thinking.

Didn’t direct and Dish try to merge a couple of years ago and the government stopped it? Maybe this is a work around.

They both suck. I wish someone could give Comcast some competition so I could get my bill down. :D

does your epb offer fiber optic up there? they do here and blow comcast out of the ballpark

Fiberoptic FTW! I am not a Comcast fan. At all. But I was even less of a dish fan, so I had Comcast for a while. When ATT's Uverse service showed up, I gave it a shot. The picture is 100x better than Comcrap and the internet is 10x better, all at a lower price than cable and with no commitment of any type!

I had dish network and one fine day it stopped working (my youngest shepard ate the dish cable coming from the sat dish)... i called them and they told me it would be 75 bucks to come out and look at it ....... I was already paying them 175.00 a month. I told her fine ill just cancel....then she changed her tune --- i was like nope sorry deal is done cancel , last time i deal with those clowns.

Actually, Dish and Direct both are stuck in the "contract game" and though I think Direct has better customer service, I am awaiting Uverse to come through the Valley. We recently moved from a modular home about a mile away to a log cabin. The previous renter had Dish and 14 months left on her contract. I offered to take it over if I could make a few changes. Called Dish and requested a Dual Recvr DVR to go with the dual recvr here now, upgrade the package another $60 but my only condition ... I want the Dual DVR for free. Nope, they couldn't do it. They wanted $200 for the Dual DVR. I said "so you will settle for a $250 early termination fee rather than $1600 over the next 14 months?" Yep, they are settling for the $250 they may never get.

Turn around, I called Direct to move my current service from the other house. Free moving since I haven't moved in the last 12 months. There was also a promo for an additional DVR for free ... BUT, you had to sign a new 2yr contract without the promotional pricing. Hmmm, nope ... I have one DVR, don't need a second that bad. So, I take advantage of the NFL ticket, premium package, and save $3 from my regular price ... just gotta cancel after 5 months or I'm gonna pay more. We wait a week and the guy shows up to do the install. He gets it all done and starts going through the paperwork for me to sign. The last page was a NEW 2 YR CONTRACT. I put the brakes on and refused to sign. He says "you have to." I say "No, I don't." He gets his boss on the line and he says never mind, just head out. Although I have no problem stickin it to Direct over the new contract, I gave the tech my number. If the company sticks him on the install, I would rather pay him $100 for his work than sign a new contract.

Both companies are stuck in "contract hell" same as cell phone companies. Some day they will learn that pretty much everyone would rather just have it simple and straight forward rather than the endless notations on the calendar to make sure we play the game they have set up.

Sounded cute? Take it from an old radio guy... she could have been a 400 pounder, or even worse. :-)

See.. I have Comcast and just got out of the 12 Month Promo thing I received, and now I'm getting raped, but AT&T is gonna be the exact same price, almost, after their promo is over... And I cannot have Dish or DirecTV...

You can call comcrap up and get another promotion. not as good as the original, but they will give you something. and when that one runs out, call again......get another one. thats what i did until i switched.
