Hello all! My story: Just a few weeks ago, I became the proud owner of a few firearms. I woke up one morning with the itch to go shooting. I hadn't been in several years since my Dad passed away. I contacted one of my good friends that I knew had a couple of guns for sale and he made me a deal that I couldn't pass on a scoped synthetic stocked Chinese SKS with a Bushmaster case and Sig P228 9mm with 6 mags. I took my wife with me as she had never even held a firearm but wanted to learn. We went to the range and had a great time! On the way home from the range, we stopped by my Mom's house to watch the UT game that evening with her and I showed my step father our new toys. He informed me that he had my Dad's old guns in his cabinet and I was welcome to them since they were his. I thought my Mom had sold them when my Dad passed. I left with a Remington 742 semi auto .308 and two .22 rifles. He also gave me a Homak gun cabinet. I literally went from have zero guns to having 5 in less than 24 hours. I am hooked now and have been back to the range several times. I'm also getting ready to build up an AR-15 over the next several months. I purchased the stripped lower receiver yesterday and am in the process of saving up some money out of each pay check to buy the rest of the parts. I've been bitten by the gun bug now and there is no turning back! :D

Welcome aboard!

Good deal falling into all of those guns like that.

Be sure to read up a bit on cleaning and the like. It seems simple, but it is anything but.

I inherited all of my father's guns, but sadly my mother was not gun savvy. Most of them set in a closet untouched for 20+ years. Except the old coach gun, that set next to a window. It is not pretty now. Functional, but no pretty.
