Ruger LCP magazine

So, I walk in to a gun store and ask for a replacement magazine for a Ruger LCP. The store manager proudly pulls a mag off the shlf that had to be at least a foot long. After I told him I didn't think it would fit in my pocket, He laughed and sold me a standard LCP mag. Are those things just for a joke? Is there some utility to them? I've never seen one before.

I just got the LCP last week and took the 15 rd mag plus extra standard ones. I've used it only once at the range, and besides not having to reload after 6, which was convenient, it actually annoyed me trying to shoot from it. It's totally impractical even for practice. We'll never "carry" those, and it's funny that they put the finger stop at the bottom. I'll sell mine if anyone ever wants it, or will just use it to have fun at the range with it.:D

Sort of like those guys that stick a 33rd mag in a G26. It's nothing but a range novelty IMO. It throws off the whole balance and grip of the pistol for me.
