This would be Hunter our rescued mut. He was abused and kicked out of a car at the Co-op feed mill in rockford. A family member there called and said he needed a new home.

Just funnin' with ya. Following is the educational moment:

"The Aye-aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis) is a strepsirrhine native to Madagascar that combines rodent-like teeth with a long, thin middle finger to fill the same ecological niche as a woodpecker. It is the world's largest nocturnal primate, and is characterized by its unique method of finding food; it taps on trees to find grubs, then gnaws holes in the wood and inserts its elongated middle finger to pull the grubs out.

Daubentonia is the only genus in the family Daubentoniidae and infraorder Chiromyiformes. The Aye-aye is the only extant member of the genus (although it is currently an endangered species); a second species (Daubentonia robusta) was exterminated over the last few centuries."

The picture is of a juvenile. It's hard to believe, but they actually get better-looking as they get older and grow fur - not any uglier than a possum actually.

Here's a few more dandies:

Ellie is brown and Daisy is blonde. Both Maltese/Poodle mix

These are the girls that run the house, besides my wife that is. Never thought I would have small lap dogs but it turns out they are pretty good companions. Some day when I have an adequate outside area I would like to have a "man's dog". But I have to say these dogs are smart and that's the only kind to have.
