Sage and/or other herb smudges?

Anyone have any experience making these sorts of things? I am harvesting the herbs in my garden and I am thinking about making some smudges, I always have loved the smell of a burning smudge. I have found a couple of guides to making them online, but any real-world advice from someone who has done it would be helpful.

Oh and I'm not a Wiccan or anything crazy, I just love to scent wood fires or burn the occasional incense stick. Making some with my own two hands from my own garden would be kind of neat.

Rock on Hippie.

I love the smell of sage sticks too. :tough:

I haven't been a hippie since the first time I went to college ;)

Believe it or not the first time I was introduced to sage sticks were by my minister who uses them in ceremony.
