So, what about the Shriner's gunshow?

Apparently, the Kerbela Shriner's are having a gunshow this Saturday and Sunday, October 2-3, 2010. My mom showed me a very, very small ad (in the Classifieds, I think) in the newpaper last week and they are advertising it in the rotation on the electronic billboard that is between the Lovell Road and Pellissippi exits. Thing is, the billboard says to go to their website for more info (kerbelashriners.com) but upon going to their site I see no info about it, whatsoever. It isn't even on their calendar of events (probably just an oversight by whoever maintains the web page.) Anyhow, as I said, it is supposed to be this coming Saturday and Sunday at 315 Mimosa Avenue in the downtown Knoxville area.

We will probably go, although I am not sure exactly when. I tend to prefer the smaller shows (I seem to find better prices on the types of firearms I go to gun shows to find - well used but still functional utility shooters as opposed to rare finds, safe queens or collectibles.) Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it, if anyone has been to a gun show there, before, etc.

The Kerbela Shriners "Kerbela Temple" is on a hill overlooking Baptist/Mercy Hospital in South Knoxville.

The temple building faces downtown and you can see it when crossing the Gay Steet Bridge if you're going south towards hospital.

But use Henley St Bridge/Chapman Hwy. to get to it.

If going South on Henlry St. /US 441(headed away from Dowtown Knoxville), Mimosa Ave is the first left IMMEDIATELY after the Blount Ave. intersection on the South end of Henley Street Bridge.

Turn Left on Mimosa from Chapmany Hwy. , Kerbela Temple is a short drive up Mimosa Ave.

I'm thinking about going, hopefully Saturday AM as well, but I've not commited to that yet. But most likely I am going this weekend.

Nothing particular I'm going for but mostly just to browse and drool. Hopefully their will be decent turnout of vendors.

We'll see. Might look at a tactical holster setup for my Sig P226 and some other tactical gear; pouches, vest, packs, etc....

Depending on what I see at the Kerbela show, I might wait for the Oct. 16-17 RK show at Chilhowee Park to splurge.

One vendor I spoke to recently who said he would be at both shows is this guy.

Anybody familiar with them? They're in Knoxville / Halls area.

Nice to talk to on phone. I asked if he was on TGO / or other forums, he said no.

Anyway I'll shout out a post here when I head that way If I can make it.

Cheers
