I played Pogs in the '90s.

Come to think of it I might have a couple slammers still left around here somewhere

POG has a different meaning for me now, thanks to Halfpint. ;)

But yeah, it was a short-lived fad back in the mid-90s. I think I have some somewhere.

I know what they are but I missed the game thankfully.

Kimberchick is refering to a P.O.G. Pronounced like pogue. Personnel Other than Grunt

Pogue - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pogue is a pejorative military slang term used to describe non-infantry, non-combat soldiers, staff, and other rear-echelon or support units.[1] A related term is the acronym REMF, or "rear-echelon mother ****er". "Pogue" frequently describes those who don't have to undergo the stresses that the infantry does, and is generally used as a diminutive for any non-infantry personnel who disagrees or impedes the wants of a "grunt".

This term has somewhat been replaced by the word Fobbit which refers to non-combat arms soldiers who never leave their Forward Operating Base.[citation needed] FOBBIT is a combination of the acronym FOB and term Hobbit from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series. Hobbits never leave the Shire. REMFs and Pogues never leave the FOB. Hence the term FOBBIT.

I loved Pogs when I was in elementary school. I think I still have my complete set of Hardee's Apollo 13 pogs and slammer in my attic somewhere.

I used to rock at Pogs. I was unbeatable at Tournaments. I had a slammer that was solid bronze with finger grooves made into a Ying-Yang. I could flip an entire stack with that baby. They have got to be around here somewhere, I'm sure I still have them.

By the way, you did say OVER 30.

omg lol....i was so addicted to that damn game and then they banned it at school saying it was a form of gambling cause some cry babys complained when they lost. I used to have a brass slammer so heavy it got "banned" cause it would cut up the pogs lol....ahh....the good ol' days.
