Ar-15 Questions

Been reading, and an AK isnt going to fit my bill.

So moving to an AR platform.

First off, my intentions are to build a rifle that will be accurate to 200+ Yards.

And would like to TRY to keep it in the $700 range.

Also, finding it in .308 caliber would be nice but isnt necessary.

Advice on how to achieve what im looking to do?

Also, the 700 figure is just for the rifle, i will get rings and optics at a later time, will run off irons or a cheap sight until then.

Well, it will.

But its not what im really wanting.

Will and AR lower fit any caliber AR upper?

Yes. Ar-15 lowers will fit just about any ar-15 upper.

.308 uppers will not fit. They are built on different dimensioned receivers.

I have a spreadsheet for a pretty inexpensive AR build put together. If you are interested in it, pm me.

Just buy a cheap DPMS 16" and it should fit the bill I can shoot all day at 200. great groups at 300 and on paper at 400 oh and that is using iron sights at the shooting complex in clarksville. The 308 AR uppers alone typically exceed your budget so I doubt if the 308 will be possible. However 5.56 should be plenty good enough for all you want.
