Mike, expungement only erases the record of the actual charge, but there are still other records floating around. My acquaintance got his DUI expunged, so the formal charges is no longer on his record, but the record for an arrest for DUI still remains.

I got my expungment back in 92 and have never had a problem buying a gun or getting my permit because of it.The only time I've had a background check come back pending on me was because of a problem with a gun's serial no.My gun's serial no.was for example xyz1234 and the one with the no. xyz1235 had come up stolen.
