BILLBOARD: Politics or Not?

and for the record ... i do miss Bush. I'm a small business owner and with Bush's tax cuts have allowed me to continue hiring people and investing in the future. When those tax breaks disappear, so will more jobs along with small business' themselves ...

I miss Bush Term I.

The Lame Duck Bush Tour II, not so much.

I have alot of complaints about Bush but he was far better, or let me say much less dangerous than the closet Marxist we have now. I do appreciate his Supream Court nominees and allowing that silly AW ban to expire among a few other things, tax cuts etc. Much better record than his dad had on firearms issues and his SC choices have made brave decisions on the 2nd Amendment.

Comparing Dubya to Obama or vice versa is tantamount to saying you prefer the fragance of one turd over another. AFAIK both are complete failures and combined, have polarized this country and sent our economy into the tank. Dubya was cut taxes and spend, Obama is raise (yet we have to see it) taxes and spend.

That's all if I truly believe the President is entirely to blame. Those parties behind them are awfully powerful and self-serving to no end.

You cannot win with anyone in Washington anymore.

Unless I am seriously mistaken and my memory worse than I think, Bush II said that if Congress would put a new AWB on his desk, he would sign it. Congress did not. Therefore, it was Congress and not Dubya who allowed the AWB to expire. It just happened to be when the Shrub was in the Whitehouse.

I will go on record to say that I thought Bush was a terrible President. I will also say that, when it was obvious that it would be either Obama or McCain - and most likely Obama - who would follow him into the Oval Office, I predicted that it wouldn't be long before we would all miss Bush, myself included. This was not an endorsement of Bush so much as the realization that Obama (or even McCain) would be even worse.

On some things, yeah Bushie was all right. He administration still spent like a drunken sailors and was firmly under the spell of the Keynsians. So the Left do have a valid point when they ask where were the budget hawks for the 8 years prior to the O.

I don't remember him saying that, he very well could have though.

This is correct. Who knows whether he was just pandering to moderates, though.

I do not miss Bush. Patriot Act. Iraq. Tarp I. The apparent willingness to sign the AWB extension.

He wasn't QUITE as bad as the current dude, though. He would have taken the Korean Garands, I think. And he didn't bow to other dignitaries. And it appears he didn't enjoy signing TARP into law.

But even so, we must remember that O was elected in large part BECAUSE of Bush's failures. I DON'T blame Bush for everything like some do, but he must bear his share of the weight for our current situation.

Garufa: don't give up. Ron Paul 2012! :P

Agreed.

I like Ron Paul, but he's going to be 78 by the time the 2012 election rolls around...

Wrote him in in '08. He didn't even appear on radar for any sizeable portion of the final tally.

Considering the alternatives, Yep, I miss him.

I too would have loved to see Ron Paul in the White House :D ....sigh....

Can't wait to see what happens come election day in 30-35 days from now

Bless you! I wish more people would see this and stop falling for the games that the politians play. To me it's insulting how they behave. People don't vote issues anymore. This :poop: is like a F N kindergarden popularity contest now. Bush was a ignorant dud and Obama is weak as hell. People should stop lying to themselves when they say that their dislike for Obama has nothing to do with race. I dislike him because he is weak. The one thing that I liked about Bush/Cheney is that they did what they felt was right whether it was or not. They stuck to their guns. Whew! I'm out of here.

+1 They will all be bad. They (both parties) only represent special interest. They fool the people into petty fights while they rob us blind.

You're still lurkin'!

What did he do on immigration? In eight years you would think that we could have sealed the border with Mexico.

I disagree with Obama being weak .... He's done pretty much exactly what he said he would (mind you, I am NOT an Obama Supporter) Obama care being one of the large issues ... Most of Obama's "Change" came with HUGE federal spending ... How else would he get anything on his agenda? By adding to the National Debt. People love "free" things like healthcare, but at the end of the day, someone has to pay for it ... Those paying for it are our Children and Grandchildren.

What I think most people miss, is that the President really doesn't have as much say so as we think he does .... Congress & the house control most of what's going on. I blame them more than the actual acting president. and with that, I blame the Democratic Held Congress for the past 3-4 years of the economic downturn. No doubt, large corporations and banks got greedy, but to sit there and continue to increase federal spending and debt it just absurd in this economic climate .... Obama needs to convince congress to extend tax cuts to everyone, decrease federal spending, and sit on his hands for the next 2 years while we try to decrease our national debt. Will that happen = negative ....

ehhh .... I now understand why young people (or those in my generation) just don't give a rats tail anymore ....

I'm a conservative by nature ... I'm a small business owner ... and I don't feel like paying someone's Section 8 payment on the house rented next door to me -- Especially seeing them sit home and watch TV all day while I work my butt off .... I'm afraid my whole generation will be "We Need The Government To Run Our Lives For Us" they won't have a single freedom left. Healthcare and Housing is paid for .... might as well be lazy and do nothing with my life.

::rant over:: Just felt like letting go right now ... thanks for listening :)
