40 S&W Carbine Accuracy and Reliability

So does anyone here have a carbine that shoots 40 S&W who would be willing to infrom me about it's accuracy and reliability? Especially interested in what you think about the folding one that Kel-tec makes. Don't see how something with a folding barrel is that much better than a pistol. Tell me what you think.

Don'y know about the keltec but the hipoint is dead accurate. I have never had a FTF or any malfunction what so ever.

The .40 Kel-Tec that I shot ran fine. It was pie plate accurate at 100 yards. It makes a great truck gun if your carry a Glock.

My Sub2ooo in .40 is very accurate and has been 100% reliable...

I shot a friends Ruger PC4 in .40sw a few months back. Shot very well, handled and balanced great.

Shooting steel targets was like nothing. Just walk them down. It was a very fun little carbine to shoot.

I have a beretta CX4 storm in .40. It is very accurate. I havent streched it out more than about 50 yards but from others I have seen who have them say about 100 yards is the max but it is more because of the ammo than the rifle. I have never had any failures out of it and I have shot TN reloads thru it.

When I worked in law enforcement, our department issued Ruger Police Carbines in .40 S&W and they were excellent little rifles. I have been considering the Kel Tec Sub2000 myself and I have read good things about it. If I could find a reasonable price for one around my neck of the woods, I'd pick one up.

I shudder to think of the awesome power a .40 S&W carbine might deliver. With a rifle length barrrel the full force of the Death Ray must be fully realized.

I just sold my CX4 Storm and already miss it. I shot paper plate accurate just plinking around at 50-60 yards. Great little rifle.

Greentimber, how many have you built and which method did you use (weld, rivet, screw, or toothpick haha)?

When I shot my friends Ruger Carbine in .40 it did great knocking steel plates down at bout 30 feet (FMJ).

When I shot the same steel targets with my .357 lever, it knocked them down all right... but my hollow points went right

threw the 1/4" steel plates as well. I couldn't believe it!

With all this great talk about the Kel-Tec Sub2K its making me want one.

The advantage of the Kel-Tec Sub2000 carbine is the light weight, only about four pounds. And, it will accept high capacity mags. For example, the Sub-2000 in the GLOCK grip will take the 30 round mags. Of course, it makes the gun look even funnier than it does already!

I have a Hi-Point carbine in 40 S&W. Accurate, mine does not like steel case ammo but eats everything else. I do not like the stock and the mags are not hi cap and it uses only Hi-Point mags.

For $216 OTD I think it is a worth while investment.
