Deer encounter thought yall might get a kick out of

So my mom is down from NY, and she wanted to walk through the woods up back (no she isn't from the city, she's from waaaaayyyy out in the boonies in western NY), and we were on the way back down. Jumped a couple deer out of the field, a doe and a fawn. The doe took off down the hill away from us, but the fawn took off kind of across the hill, went about 50 ft of so, and stopped. It kind of looked around to see where it's mother went, and couldn't see her, so it decided to check us out instead. Sat there and looked at us for a minute, and my mom started calling to it, I turned to tell her that'd never work, and heard it run, turned around, it was running TOWARD us! Little bugger ran up to about 15-20 ft away and just stood there and looked at us. Then it took off with that little hop-skip playing run that young animals have, and went up around us in a big half circle, got a little uphill of us, and came right back in to about 20 ft, and checked us out from the uphill side! I don't know about you all, but I've never seen a deer actually run toward me and stop to check me out like that. I've snuck up pretty close to some before, but I've never had one come back like that!

I would say that deer doesnt last long in the wild.

I had two fawns do that to me once...They were just "bouncing around" playing. They came back 5 or 6 times to within 10 feet of me.

Ha, yeah, because I just randomly carry a camera with me at all times, and actually think to use it!

Yeah, deer are very curious. I am not surprised at all. So neat to experience things like that.

Nah, I think mama would have come out on the bottom end of that deal. This is tennessee GUN owners afterall, and I don't just own em for show.
