Scored a S&W 642

I picked this up from a guy today for $300 with a Blackhawk size 8 IWB, 60 Win White box HP's and a mix of a couple dozen good SD loads. I was not looking for a new gun, but this sounded like a good deal. If i don't like it, I can shoot the ammo up and easily sale it to make my money back.

I have held them at gun shops, but i did not realize how light and small they are. It is smaller and much lighter than my PPS. With the blackhawk IWB it is a dream to carry. I got it for my wife, but i may end up carrying it when she is not.

I recently got a 442 and pocket holster. The weight and size allow it to fit in a pocket very well. I decided to get it, after I looked at the LCP.

I never thought i would like a revolver for carry, but at 1 or 2 o'clock IWB i forget it is there. My wife will have a hard time getting away from me. I prefer my PPS because of capacity, mag reloads, but i can see the 642 being my summer carry when i am in shorts. It sits in the cargo pocket nicely.

I have shot LCPs. I much prefer this 642. The LCP is a great gun, but just not my choice. I think this has less recoil and is easier to grip while not much heavier.

nice pick and a good deal at that. dry fire it 500 times or so and the trigger gets real smooth

Nice gun. We bought one this month with the Crimson Trace laser grip. I highly recommend you look into the CT grip.

When coupled with a quality holster, the 642 is the best ankle carry gun I've ever had. I've tried it with others, but keep coming back to this one.
