Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone owns a Makarov and if so, do you use it for ccw? I do and I love it for ccw and shooting for fun at the range as well. Not bad for $200 :)

Mine is a CZ-82, not a proper mak. But yes, it is a competent carry piece. Size wise though if you've got the cash, you can probably find a more powerful caliber in the same size piece.

I own an IJ70-18A Russian mak and just picked up a PA-63 also chambered in 9mm x 18. I don't carry my IJ70 as it has sentimental value and I don't want anything to happen to it but I am now carrying my PA-63. If I am going somewhere where I want more stopping power, I carry my S&W .45(see avatar).

I Love my Mak and PA-63 though. They are small(in comparison to my .45), light-weight and easy to carry.

I have one of the Bulgarian models. I like it as it hasn't jammed yet and it has a smooth trigger pull. From Makarov.com, I bought extra mags, a civilian style holster a magazine pouch and a.22 caliber conversion kit. I installed a .22 conversion on it last year and haven't switched back yet as it's so much cheaper to shoot.
