Got dozens of Chris LeDoux CD's.

Met him in Nashville in 2000. He was the real deal. RIP.

Check into Don Edwards and Waddie Mitchell, especially stuff they did together. The best.

Best song Ledoux ever did? Buffalo Grass. Prepare to shed a tear.

That is a beautiful song. I've never heard it before. We saw him perform at the Opry not too long after his liver transplant. He was definitely the real deal.

Marty Robbins, gun fighter ballads, not much better! Seals,LeDoux and Murphy all on fav list. One that I have never forgotten and still kinda tugs a heart string was one of Tex Ritter's. Though not a cowboy song per se, struck a chord having grown up on and off the farm and the military. Deck of Cards.Still remember the letter from Dad after sending him a specially marked deck while on first tour in Nam, was only advisors in country at time. Granddad gave us a 45 of this. Thought it was the greatest story at the time, still is.

I'm not much on the latest and greatest technology, but I have to admit that cowboy and bluegrass music is almost enough to make me want an Ipod type thing. I just can't find it on the radio around here.

I found out about a fella named R.W. Hampton thru "True West" Magazine a few months ago and I think he has one of the best singing voices I've ever heard. He is a real cowboy himself and sings about the life he knows. Here is just one example:

Find some stuff that Don Edwards did with Tony Rice.

Wicked harmony!

Anybody remember "The Rodeo Song". Probably get banned if I post a link to that one but it was probably the most popular song in the 80's with the true cowboy crowd.
