Frontlines Spotlight: TN House District 80

This email is going to the email list of the NRA-ILA Frontlines volunteers for the 7th and 8th Congressional Districts. A few special guests are also included.

Please note that this email contains my personal opinion, as grades and endorsements have not yet been made by the NRA Political Victory Fund (but will be soon).

The general election is 55 days from today on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd. If there is anyone in your "circle" who is not registered to vote, get them registered asap.

This email is the second of three or four to "spotlight" a race in our districts where a pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment challenger has a good chance to beat an anti-gun incumbent. Our success in this type of race is very important this year.

So, let's turn out attention to District 80 and look at a long time anti-gun member of the TN House: Rep. Johnny Shaw. Rep. Shaw is a nice man from Bolivar, TN, but very rarely, if ever, votes with us on our issue.

He is being challenged by Mark Johnstone of Jackson, TN, a Madison County Commissioner.

This district is made up of part of Madison County and part of Hardeman County. In the 2008 Presidential election, President Obama carried the district by only 3% of the vote over John McCain. In today's political climate, this race is very winnable for challenger Mark Johnstone.
