or does TGO seem to be attracting alot of argumentative and downright unpleasant posters lately?

I know it's the internet and you're always going to have your wannabes and know-it-alls, but it seems like the past 2 months we've had more than usual. Between the constant religious debates, arguments, and just general asshatery TGO is really starting to suffer IMO. With some of the things that have been posted and advocated lately I'd hate to think that some of these people represent the firearms community.

Obviously lol

Obviously I know more than you because I am older than you and you suck. Don't get pissy with me boy.

Guns, politics, and religion are very passionate topics. It would be unusual if folks that held strong beliefs about one didn't have them (and feel free to express those convictions randomly) about the others. In a way, I suppose it comes with the territory.

Long as you have an off topic section, you are going to have many "debates".

And thank you for that, young man. I appreciate the kindness.

You're welcome!

On a side note I meant to type doofs. I have no idea if you and Mike conduct yourself as dwelling coverings or not. :D

I have been on here for about 2 1/2 years and this morning, I put someone on my ignore list. Just tired of the BS.

I just added 2 myself. I'll admit I enjoy some of the back and forth a bit when it's a difference of opinion, but if you are just unwilling to see another side of a debate without being childish about it, while claiming others are immature, I have no use for you. I don't know everything and I don't pretend to and I am more than willing to admit a mistake and there's plenty of times I've done it lol I think that's what separates "debaters" from "arguers".

It's just the price of success and probably a reflection of the mood of the country. Aren't we all pi$$'d about something these days? I'm trying to practice my zen ignoring. Which I suppose would make me zen ignorant. :D

It is just aggravating to see all the BS.

I think that's a big part of it. Anyway, I'm not going to put anybody on ignore. They usually either wise up, get the ban hammer, or lose interest. The wising up process can be real entertaining.

I would guess that the number of argumentative types here is consistent with numbers in the general population.

Of course the internet does offer someone an anonymous place to say what they might not say to someone face to face.

The big problem seems to be all the youngsters who obviously have no clue what they are talking about. :D Or would that be all the old farts who don't know? I can't remember.

Maybe none of us know anything, but we're all convinced we do and sometimes we just happen to agree because what we think we know is the same as what everyone else we are talking to at that time thinks as well.

Good existential reply. In all things human our friends, or tribe, or whatever are those that are like us. Everyone else is a perceived threat.

Wo, that's sorta heavy. I'm going to work now. I think I've got my bs up to speed.
