Frontlines Spotlight: TN House District 81

This email is going to the email list of the NRA-ILA Frontlines volunteers for the 7th and 8th Congressional Districts. A few special guests are also included.

Please note that this email contains my personal opinion, as grades and endorsements have not yet been made by the NRA Political Victory Fund (but will be soon).

The general election is 60 days from today on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd. If there is anyone in your "circle" who is not registered to vote, get them registered asap.

This email is the first of three or four to "spotlight" a race in our districts where a pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment challenger has a good chance to beat an anti-gun incumbent. Our success in this type of race is very important this year.

So, let's start "with a bang" and look at the most visible anti-gun member of the TN House: "Speaker Emeritus" Jimmy Naifeh. He is being challenged by Jim Hardin of Covington, TN, who is a Navy veteran, and one of us. He personally told me that he questions why we need a carry permit system in Tennessee when we have the Second Amendment.

This district is made up of most of Tipton County and all of Haywood County. In the 2008 Presidential election, John McCain carried the district with 59% of the vote to President Obama's 41% of the vote. Also, please note that in 2002, Rep. Naifeh's challenger in that race got 47% of the vote. In today's political climate, this race is **winnable** for Jim Hardin!
