Anyone know of a good gunsmith who can cut an AR barrel to minimum length, around 14" then permanently attach a flash suppressor on it? Memphis area with experience... what do you think it would cost?

Call Classic Arms tomorrow and ask for Mason, I'm Chance . . . Mason's our smith, he knows a guy with a machine shop that we use fairly often. He's done a lot of dovetail cuts, barrel shortening / threading, and welding. I think it runs like $50-ish for a thread job, shouldn't be more than $100 to have it cut, threaded, and welded though.

The guy's name is Jimmy Murphy, but I'm not sure the name of the shop, otherwise I'd post it and just let you call him direct.

Anyway, (901) 757-4655, 9:30 to 6:00, ask for Mason.

If Classic Arms doesn't work out for some reason, I can let you know of another good smith here in the Memphis area, but it will take six months or more to get it done.

He does great work, but is so backlogged it just takes FOREVER...
