Overheard at G & L

Got some range time in today, tried to talk to Metalhead but he was on the phone . . . Then I saw a poser guy walking around asking about "clips". Then he goes up to the counter with some ammo and says to the guy at the register. . .

"Hey, I shot a guy and he didn't die. Are these what I want next time?":screwy:

There was a general pause from about 4 of us since he said it loud enough to be heard (on purpose I'm sure). The guy behind the register just pauses, looks at him and says.

"Naw, that's just for punching holes in paper, I guess you could shoot right through him and he could bleed to death."

I don't know how he kept a straight face. Props to all the guys behind the counter for dealing with people like this day after day.:D

We need that guy's words on the poll about "Shoot to kill vs. Shoot to stop the threat."

Few weeks ago was at RangeUSA and it was pretty much empty cept me an a buddy and this dude with an ole miss shirt and hat. He had a glock that had a laser site and a flashlight. Both were turned on and not sure what he was doin but they were not helping him hit the center of mass.

I wonder if the guy was a regular and was just messing with them and to see the reaction from people.

I swear a gun shop in Lafollete TN about 14 years ago told me a .22 was useless.

I went in looking for a .22. I knew what I wanted and what I wanted it for at the time.

The guy ask me what I wanted it for, I told him I worked last and drove home late and just wanted to carry a gun with me. ( hold your reaction Let me finish).

He said if you every have to shoot someone with a .22 they will take it away from you and use it on you. I replied, well if it didn't hurt him it won't hurt me.

We can joke about it, but a .22 it still going to hurt and can be deadly, however it could also stop the threat, might take a couple rounds though.

(keep in mine this was about 14 year ago and my thinking has changed allot since then).

I agree a .22 can do some damage and stop a threat. A couple in the head and chest BG is going to look for cover

I was in Range USA about a month ago on a slow Monday,a fella walked straight over to one of the employees and asked if they sold sniper rifles, she asked this fella what caliber he was looking for,his reply and I quote(probably something in a 50 BMG)I kinda was wondering how big his squirrels are, seemed like a weird request from someone that didnt seem to know which end of the rifle to hold.Takes all kinds I guess.:screwy::screwy::rolleyes:

I attended my step son's funeral because of a 22 and it was one shot to the head.
