The wife and I took our HCP test at G&L (Mark was great) on Sat. Aug 7th. We both went to the DMV Mon. Aug 9th. Then on the same day (Aug 9th) we went back to G&L for our fingerprinting. On Aug 24th my wife received her HCP in the mail. My permit arrived on Sep 1st. Why there is a 8 day difference, eludes me???

The worker who handled your paperwork probably took a few days off and it sat on their desk.:)

A wise perspective, and great observation about government in general!

I guess the one that did mine took leave of absence for maternity leave then. Or at least a 2 week vacation.

It could have been worse. She could have retired!

Just make sure when you are up for your renewal that you go ASAP. My renewal took right at 4 months to get to me. I called them at the 3 month mark since all of their papers say "up to 90 days" and was told they were just overwhelmed with applications for renewals. Just some FYI for the future...
