I received this in an email today. I don't know who wrote it but it hits home about the way things is today..Wish I knew who wrote it so I could give credit where its due.

Have you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on?

If a conservative doesn't like guns, they don’t buy one.

If a liberal doesn't like guns, they want all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, they don’t eat meat.

If a liberal is a vegetarian, they want all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative is homosexual, they quietly lead their life.

If a liberal is homosexual, they demand legislated respect.

If a conservative is down-and-out they think about how to better their situation.

A liberal wonders who is going to take care of them.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host they switch channels.

Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer they don't go to church.

A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

(Unless the religion is Islam!)

If a conservative decides they need health care they go about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.

A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for it.

If a conservative reads this, they'll forward it so that friends can have a good laugh or cry.

A liberal will delete it because they are offended.

Well, I forwarded it to you so you know where that puts me.

Truer words have never been written. This is the most accurate description of the way things are that I have ever read.

That abut sums it up as good as anything I know of. I just wish I could understand where they are coming from.

The best Yoga student in the world can't manage to stick their head where a liberal does

But I try less to understand it and more to laugh my arse off at it

These two have had a banter around here, lately, haven't they?

Makes me wonder...

Very good post!

A conservative wants equal opportunity to succeed.

A liberal wants equal results.

A Conservative believes in the worth of the individual.

A Liberal believes in the common good.

That is a great way to phrase it.

I like the scene near the end of "Enemy at the Gate" where the loyal communist propaganda guy is discussing his recent observations about why communism does not work.

It's a very noble idea that simply does not work in reality. I can't understand why otherwise intelligent folks just can't see how impossible it is.

In kindergarden we all learn to share all we have with others. It's a great life lesson. In the 12+ grades that follow we learn why the world does not work like kindergarden. Well, most of us do and the rest are the President.

A liberal politician steals from those that earn and gives it to those that will not.

A conservative politician steals from those that earn and keeps it.

We need another option.

I hope you really meant to say Republican and not

conservative, because don't necessarily fit the same

category

None of the categories fit anymore. Just use whatever label works for you

Liberals aren't really liberal at all. Conservatives aren't really conservative either. I like the label Libertarian that is regaining popularity again. It has not been tarnished by bad politics yet (give them time).

Look at ME. I'm a LIBERAL! I get offended went people don't pay attention to ME and what I want. People who don't agree with ME are bad people. The world revolves around ME!

Well, libertarianism took a nose dive when Lisa Murkowski considered using them

to retain her seat. I guess you can make mincemeat out of anything if you try.

and it depends on Modern liberalism compared to the original liberalism, and the GOP

as opposed to the dirt party or whatever. Conservatives align themselves more with the

Founders idea of smaller government, rather than the GOP's idea of inclusion and

progressiveness. The GOP is doing all the wrong things. Compare Jim Demint to a

Lindsay Graham, or a Paul Shelby to a Charles Shumer. Shelby was a democrat before.

The difference is striking.

The Libertarian label can be bastardized just like the others.

Stuff happens when people are involved.

What I am saying is, that there are people claiming to be what they are not.

You have to wade through a lot, sometimes, to tell the difference. That doesn't

necessarily diminish what the word means. Words have meaning and some are

intellectually and politically dishonest.

+1 Great book! I've read it several times and love the economics message. Ayn Rand had a different take from me on theology though. But good luck finding someone you agree with on everything, huh?
