For the record I am a Christian

If the greatest gift we were given was life, then why not enjoy it and quit constantly worrying about when God is coming to get us? When he does I'm ready, but to me the constant "LOOK AT THE PROPHECY!!!" stuff is like missing a bunch of fun weekend with your friends because you're waiting on your Dad to pick you up from your Mom's for a fun weekend in a month.

AMEN:)

Please carry on....:)

I've never understood the psychology of the "end of the world" mentality.

The world already ends for each of us, always has.

So the only thing that could possibly be a little different in a mass extinction is that everyone got snuffed a bit early.

The Mayan's had TEOTWAWKI as December 21st 2012 IIRC. But if they were so smart why didn't they see that Spanish invasion coming?

I am fascinated with various prophecies like Nostradamus and such but only as entertainment. IF you start to believe in that stuff it will make you crazy.

I have never understood why self professed Bible scholars are so quick to predict TEOTWAWKI, when as has already been pointed out, the Bible states that it cannot be done.

Give Trigem a chance, and I'm sure he'll find some scripture or other reason why we don't...

Besides, didn't them Aztec fellows say we had 2 years? ( November of 2012, wasn't it? )

2012 Will not be the end of the world.

The Bible says there will be a seven year covenant signed by the Arabs & Israel, when that happens it will start a 7 year countdown,

3.5 years into the covenant Satan will stand on the holy temple mount and claim to be god, He will require everyone to receive a mark

on his right hand or in his forehead, and without it you will not be able to buy, sell or hold a job, If you take the mark you will be going

to the lake of fire (yea, I know, you don't believe in hell) from that point on it will be full scale war, at the end of the last 3.5 years Israel will be

surrounded by many armies including Russia and Iran, at that point Christ comes to save Israel and destroy the attacking armies , than there will be

a 1000 years with out satan

Then God is going to destroy the earth. His people will be moved to be with Him....

(yes I know, you don't believe it...)

Hey, look at what the Bible says about people who scoff at the Bible

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying,

Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old,and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store,

reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward,not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall

melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

(2Pe 3:3-10)

So Trig do you seriously believe God sends hurricanes as punishment? Really?

If retribution was the goal why wouldn't the hurricane just hit those that cause the issues to begin with?

This story reads like the baptist church who claims God is killing our soldiers because the the country is immoral and evil.

I am sorry but that is crazy talk.

I believe He allows Satan to get our attention that we might return around

the Bible says

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(John 3:16)

This is not an attack, God calls His people to warn the lost so they won't perish, Jesus came to save not destroy

The way I understand it, they had 12/21/2012 as TEOTPCBWNGTSHAWOACFE (The End Of This Particular Calendar Because We're Not Going To Sit Here And Write Out A Calendar For Eternity). People read way too much into stuff.

There is a book that shows things we (America) have done against Israel and with in 24 hours something really bad happened to America,

It list times and dates , all fact based, it's documented history with no bull...

Has America Has Done to Israel by John Mcternan

Say what you want, But God has sent judgment and flooded the whole earth, He kicked Jews out of Israel

for 2000 years, now He has brought them home for the final war

OK, now I am totally confused by this. So Satan sends the hurricanes?

Is that why there have been mudslides and flooding in China?

I would like to understand this.

Hey, look at what the Bible says about people who scoff at the Bible

People aren't scoffing at the Bible just because they take issue with crazy statements like this:

"At some point, Obama is going to get nasty about dividing Jerusalem, and the LORD will react exactly as Obama is doing. It will mean an incredible judgment on America from which the country will not recover."

Please tell me where in the Bible you find that kind of nonsense. :stare: Even the enemies of Israel in the old testament were not all judged immediately for their mistreatment of Israel. If judgement was immediate Moses would have never had to ask to "let my people go" Also note that prophets were stoned if their prophecies were found to be untrue. Bet that would cut down on this kind of crap theology.

And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea. And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

(Rev 16:1-21)

Ho Zion, escape, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. For thus saith the LORD of hosts:

After glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you (Israel) toucheth the apple of his eye.

For, behold, I will shake mine hand over them, and they shall be a spoil to those that served them: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

Barack Obama urges Mid-East leaders to take opportunity

President Barack Obama and Mid-East leaders speak at the White House ahead of planned peace talks

US President Barack Obama has urged Israeli and Palestinian leaders not to let the chance of a permanent peace deal "slip away".

"This moment of opportunity may not soon come again," he said, pledging the US would support the new negotiations.

Mr Obama spoke the day before a new round of direct talks between Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas was due to begin.

Earlier, he condemned the "senseless slaughter" of four Israeli settlers.

Israel and the Palestinians

They were shot dead by gunmen in the West Bank on Tuesday.

Mr Obama spoke at the White House on Wednesday evening after meetings with Mr Netanyahu, Mr Abbas, Jordan's King Abdullah and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

His remarks came on the eve of the first direct negotiations between Israeli and Palestinian leaders in 20 months, which he said were "intended to resolve all final status issues".

'Very productive' meetings Mr Obama said the goal of the talks, which are expected to last a year, was a permanent settlement that ended the Israeli occupation that began in 1967 and resulted in an independent, democratic Palestinian state existing peacefully beside Israel.

He said the US could not impose peace on the two parties, and that the US could not want peace more than them.

And he praised Mr Abbas and Mr Netanyahu as leaders "who I believe want peace".

Mr Obama said Wednesday's initial meetings were "very productive".

President Barack Obama has to rescue the talks before they have even properly started.

The Israelis say they will not renew a partial freeze on building homes for Jews in the occupied West Bank when it expires at the end of this month. The Palestinians say that without a freeze they will walk away.

If that hurdle is cleared, three big issues will top their agenda.

First, Jerusalem. Both sides want a capital there.

Second, they need to agree the borders of an independent Palestine.

Third, the future of Palestinian refugees - people whose families fled or were driven out of what became Israel in 1948.

Even if Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu do manage to agree, both men would face serious domestic opposition to the necessary compromises.

Mr Netanyahu would have to take on the Jewish settlers, whose political representatives make up the spine of his own government.

President Abbas presides over one wing of a deeply-split Palestinian national movement - the other wing, Hamas, is against the talks.

But those took place amid fresh violence, with two Israelis shot and wounded on Wednesday at Rimonim Junction, near the Jewish settlement of Kochav Hashahar and east of the city of Ramallah.

The victims were a woman and a man, Israeli officials said, adding that the man was in a serious condition in hospital.

Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld blamed Palestinian militants for the attack.

The armed wing of Islamist movement Hamas, which controls the Gaza strip and opposes peace with Israel, said it carried Tuesday's deadly attack near Hebron in which the four Israeli settlers died.

US, Israeli and Palestinian officials all said they would not allow the killings to derail the new momentum in the long-stalled Middle East peace process.

At the White House, Mr Netanyahu said the killings in the West Bank were committed by people who "butcher everything they oppose".

But disagreement over Israeli settlement construction in the occupied West Bank has also threatened to cast a pall over the talks. The Israelis have said they will not renew a partial freeze on building homes for Jewish settlers when it expires towards the end of this month, but the Palestinians say that without a freeze they will walk away from the talks.

'Unwavering support' In his meeting with Mr Obama on Wednesday, the Israeli prime minister told the US president that any eventual agreement with the Palestinians must include security arrangements that put an end to threats against Israelis, an Israeli official travelling with Mr Netanyahu said.

Speaking after his talks with Mr Netanyahu, Mr Obama promised continued US support for Israel's security.

"I want everybody to be very clear," he said. "The United States is going to be unwavering in its support of Israel's security. And we are going to push back against these kinds of terrorist attacks.

"And so the message should go out to Hamas and everyone else who is taking credit for these heinous crimes that this is not going to stop us."

Mr Netanyahu said his talks with Mr Obama had been productive.

"I think that the president's statement is an expression of our desire to fight against this terror and the talks that we had, which were indeed open, productive, serious in the quest for peace," he said.

On Thursday, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is to hold discussions with the Israelis' and Palestinians' negotiating teams.

Mr Netanyahu and Mr Abbas are to then meet for the first face-to-face talks between Israeli and Palestinian leaders since late 2008.

US officials said they wanted to at least get agreement from the two sides to meet again, possibly in the second week of September. Another meeting between Mr Obama, Mr Abbas and Mr Netanyahu could be held during the UN General Assembly at the end of the month.

People read way too much into stuff.

Ain't that the truth...

The problem is, they read what they want to believe into things, completely ignoring what is actually there, and/or the source of what is being said.

In Trigem's case, I think he's working way too hard to convince people of what he is wanting to believe... and has chosen a most inappropriate way and place to make his attempt at convincing anyone.

And never mind the fact that, like most fanatics/zealots, he's cherry-picking parts and pieces of his source material to try and make his arguments.

Not really much you can do with people like that, other than ignore 'em, or beat 'em over the head with something, depending on your level of patience and idea of amusement.

Right this minute I don't have the time or the mind to be amused by him, so I'm gonna ignore him for a while.

Later on I might decide to go back to thumping him on his empty little head, if I get bored enough... :stare:

We'll just have to see how that works out...
