I hope yours is faster then mine.

still waiting.

Yesterday I got a letter telling me they needed me to fill out the application again:mad:. I called them and they told me mine was issued last week and it should be in the mail :).

About 2 weeks ago or so I was told they were still doing my background check so I was confused to be being told on the phone at first I must have missed something on my application. I told them well I have the CC and it is complete can you please find out what is missing so the same mistake is not repeated, then she checked the computer, came back and told me it was issued on 8/26 and should be in the mail soon.

I am holding that letter until I get my permit just in case, if I don't have my permit with in 15 days I will mail it anyways, not going to chance it :D

they are getting much faster than they were a year ago. I've had mine since February and it took 1 month. My dad got his in April and it only took 3 weeks.

mine has been rough.after I took my class.I went to the dmv with my hcp class certificate and original birth certificate. The dmv said the couldn't take it,it had to have a state seal on it. I was born in Ga. so I filled out a form and mailed it to vital records dept in Ga. A week later I got a letter from the vital records dept saying the price had changed from 15 to 25 dollars.so I mailed again with 25 dollars and got it back in 3 weeks.

I took the class Sunday at Guns and Leather, bought a PT709 Slim while I was there. Went to the DMV this morning, then went and did my fingerprints while I was out and about. Now the wait begins. I am hoping to have mine in a month, but you just never know. When I was in the class on Sunday the instructor said he recently had a guy in class that got his in nine days. That would be awesome, but I ain't gonna hold my breath.

on one hand, I am happy to see people get them so fast, on the other hand I am highly confused why mine is taking so long when compared to others in the same time period.

I understand your frustration ... although it's fast, it's not consistent. My friend and I took the class Sun. August 22. He did his paperwork/fingerprinting on Tuesday the 24th. I did mine on Wednesday the 25th. He received his CCL last Thursday, Sept. 9 (16 days). I've not received mine ... (20 days and counting).

Of course, a lot of people waited 90+ days, so why am I complaining B)

20 days... It'll be here before you know it... Congrats!

Time to get ready for the walmat walk. The 90+ days, I waited seems like a year, but most permits take less than a month.

I took my HCP renewal application to the local Drivers License office two weeks ago. I was told it would be three months and maybe longer before I received my new permit because of the backlog. It came in the mail today.

At least it was that way... Instead of the other way around....

I was bragging that it took just over a month to get my renewal back. They do seem alot faster nowadays, when I first applied for my HCP back in 98 it took almost the whole 90 days.

Why is there so much difference in the return time from person to person? I was fingerprinted and had the background check done in order to get a professional license to practice in TN. Any chances it could help speed up the process since its been done before? BTW I am applying for my HCP today, the wait begins.

It varies based on what they have to go through from my experience. People with military backgrounds and the like took longer usually, but I think some of it just depends on the magic in the machines so to speak.

As far as it being sped up because you did it before with something else... Hand me your bubble... *burst*

Its a new rodeo each time.
