Coyote on new property.

Recommended Posts

Well I got me some new hunting land to hunt. It's out in Milton, TN and it's about 200 acres. The gentleman who owns it said he is having problems with coyotes. Saturday I scouted the property out looking for good calling areas, so I decided to go out in the heat and see if I could call one in today. Well got this male about 45 or so minutes before dark, was only calling for about 20 minutes when he came running in at 5 yards. One shot with the shotgun using hevi shot dead coyote and one coyote down.

I've never been hunting and I know nothing about it, but that sure does look like fun. And I think coyotes are nasty animals, wouldn't mind killing one.

Coyote hunting is very fun, but not when you pull 100 teeny tiny ticks off of yourself LOL.

I just couldn't do it. I hate ticks. HATe HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE TICKS! I woke up on a camping trip as a kid with a couple attached to a place a young boy does not want to ever find ticks attached and I've had a fear of them ever sense.

That scene in Congo where Dylan Walsh comes running out screaming at Ernie Hudson for help to get the leech off? Me as a child.

About 5 yards.

5 yards !? How'd you get that close?

Also, regarding the ticks...when I was young and would haul hay in the summer, my granny would tie a rag soaked in coal oil around each of our ankles and we never got ticks or chiggers on us.

nice yote. I got into a mess of seed ticks last weekend setting up feeders. I had sprayed down well with permanone too. What I didn't do, and should have, was tuck in my shirt and tuck my pants into my boots. That always seems to help. I will be wearing Redhead EnduroSkin during bow season. That really helps keep the suckers at bay.

I put the call about 5 yards out in front of me. He came in straight at me never seen me until I raised the shotgun. I like calling them in as close as possible makes for a better hunt.
