acording to wiki the inertial fireing pin somtimes allows bumpfiring when used whith cheap comercial ammo use soft or improerly seated primers. He was railroaded.

The rifle was clearly modified.

but for some people it does't matter. thats what the whole ruby ridge debate in this thread was about.

acording to prosecuters wether or not he modified it or even if the mafunction was duplicatable is irrelavent. The precident this attitude sets renders wether this individual was guilty or not unimportant. Also the difference between a select fire and semi-auto ar15/m16 are redily visible when you look at the trigger group select fire has more peices and nothing to do whith the ground/worn parts named.
