IDPA Safety Officer Class on October 9th 2010

We will be hosting an IDPA certification class for those individuals that wish to be come Safety Officers. The class will contain both class room material, video, and on-hand range time scenarios. You will need to bring snacks, drinks and range gear for the class. The fee will be $10.00 for material($5.00 from IDPA course material). The class will be held at Gallatin Gun Club shooting range. Please contact me for any questions or concerns. I will limit the class size to 15 people.

This may be a dumb question, but I have never shot an IDPA match but I plan to soon. I like learning all aspects of things. Do you think it would be inappropriate for me to sign up for this course without the actual experience? (unfortunately I was planning to come out to Dickson this weekend, but we have family in town)

It is not a dumb or inappropriate question. You must be an IDPA member in order to take the SO class. IDPA shooting experience is helpful before taking the safety officer class. This weekend's match will be fun but family comes first! We hope you will have an opportunity to visit the range soon. I will plan on a SO class every six months for everyone to attend.

Safety Officer spots are still available. For all of those that shoot competitive, this class will allow you to take some of the workload off of others that have been doing it for years. We all need to do our part!

This weekend at Gallatin Gun club, I am putting on an IDPA safety officer class. The cost is $10.00(5.00 for the material and the other 5.00, I am putting it back to Gallatin for letting me use it). We will start at 8:30 AM and will last until about 2 PM for class and range time(please bring gear and at least 50 rounds). Please bring snacks and drinks. I will be at the range at 7 AM to help with the 3 gun setup and will be at the gate at 8:15 AM to let everyone in taking the class. Hope to see you there!
