He was one of the greatest guitar players that ever lived and I liked how he was able to overcome the drugs before he died waaay too soon. I still listen to him a lot. I also like to listen to one of his students, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, another great guitar player.

Wow.

I was sitting in freshman English class, when a guy leaned over and said "Hey, did you hear about Stevie Ray Vaughn?"

I can't BELIEVE that was 20 years ago.

Just, wow.

I remember what BB King accurately stated about him. Said SRV had "more rhythm and soul than any white man I have ever seen".

Yep

I bought the ALBUM (can you say vinyl) "Couldn't Stand the Weather" in 84. Outrageous disks, But my wife kept asking what Voodoo CHILI was. :)

Can't wait to get to the next level so I can hear Jimi and SRV do it together.

Seen SRV and Double Trouble at the Grand 'Ol Opry House. Forget what year it was, however, 35mm camera's were still in vogue, and I got some killer pictures of him and his band.

One of the greatest guitarist that ever lived.

RIP Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I was working at the HiFi shop where I earned extra cash while at Alabama when I heard the news. It was a sad day, though every customer who walked in got to hear SRV for the next few days, non-stop.
