How much ammo do you carry for EDC?

Recommended Posts

Most of the time I carry a G26 (10+1) and I have a spare G17 (full-size) mag in my bag which is usually around my desk if I'm in the office or in car if I'm out and about. That's 28 rounds with my G26. If I'm at the office in casual clothes I usually carry the G19 (15+1) which I'll probably go back to more regularly when the weather cools. I guess my thought is that I'm attacked I'll be seeking safety in my vehicle or in the back of my office so having an extra magazine there will be sufficient. Plus, I just carry plenty of stuff around already.

G26 with 10+1 and a G17 17rd mag loaded with Win Rangers that I keep on my person.

Suppose that ^^ isn't enough for what ever reason, IF I can make it back to the vehicle, in my trunk my Factory Glock box has 2 spare loaded G17 mags, and 2 25rd pks of ammo.

Total rnds = 112

The only reason I do this is the possibility of having my vehicle breakdown in the middle of nowhere or making a "Wrong Turn" into canibal land. Of course there is always the possibility of "Red Dawn" occuring.....somewhere....

I highly doubt I'd need that much ammo for the general "gas station robbery" or SD shooting but it never hurts to have some spare ammo some where accessable...

M&P 9

2 spare mags

J frame in pocket

K frame snub on ankle.

Rifle and accouterment in the truck.

I've never heard anyone who had to defend themselves complain of having too much ammo.

Wow I feel under armed.

On my person ~ 11 in the gun and 10 in the spare mag = 21 rounds

While in my truck ~ Same 21 as mentioned above + 100 rounds in the console + a Mossberg 500 20" barrel shotty with 7 rounds in the mag and 6 in the side saddle + about 50 extra shells = 184 round between two guns while in the truck.

Dang.:poop:

Well, all my handguns are in other states right now, but when I get them back it'll be this.

P14 with 10 round mag in the gun, 1 in the chamber, 2 14 round mags on strong side, set up in a crossdraw shoulder holster. 7 round revolver on right hip. Eventually getting some sort of other semi-auto for small of back, will need to find a place for 2 spare mages for that. Can yall see now why I've considered getting into leatherworking to make my own rigs and holsters? Oh, and before anybody gets any ideas because I just admitted to not having any of my handguns with me I've still got my 870 at home with a vest totaling 50 shells between what's on the vest, on the gun, and in the gun.

Why pray tell are all your guns in other states? You didn't throw them there did you?

As for me I carry a M&P40C (10+1) 3 extra mags (41 total) A taurus TCP w/ 4 mags+1 so that's 25.

And my Sub2000 in the truck with 6 15 round glock mags for 90.

So 41+25+90=156

I feel better already:D

I carry maybe 2 days a week. When I do its simply my K-frame .38 with 6 rounds of +p in it. No speed loaders. No back ups. No rifle/shotty in the truck. Unless Red Dawn happens or society collapses I won't need more than 6 shots to get the job done.

Looks like I'm in the minority here. Most of the time only a fully loaded M&P40c. If I am going to be in unknown areas such as when I am geocaching I will carry a extra mag. I always have a extra mag in the truck. If I'm carrying a PF9 I am more likely to stick one of those slim mags in a pocket but I don't carry it much. Yeah, I know a mag is not much good in the truck but it's better than nothing.

Funny.. sort of...

Call me when you have to dump 100 rounds through 3 guns to stop an advancing wave of terrorizing rapist zombies so that I can call miss cleo to come help me prep my guns for World War Three.

Glad to entertain.. Sort of.

You never know what or when stuff will happen.

Mike

Nothing happens here in Suburbia. If I went out every day of my life in paranoia of some threat that lurks around every corner I'd have to be on Zoloft. In the meantime I carry when I feel like its neccesary and keep 3 guns loaded and within reach in the household at all times. I simply don't feel as though I need anything more.

What, now there are "rapist zombies"? I thought they just wanted to eat our brains? I really do need more ammo.

Guess that gives a new meaning to getting skullfu#&ed.

Nothing "usually" happens in surburbia, but it does. While the odds are lower than in some areas, there is always a threat. Kind of like home owners insurance, you are likely not to need it, ever, but it is good and necessary to have. While I don't carry a lot of ammo, what I have in the gun and the extra mag in the Jeep, the extra mag at home, I do carry......every day.

I must be paranoid then

I carry a Glock 19 (15+1) plus weak side 2 15 round mags... I carry a P3AT as a BUG (6+1) plus another 6 round mag. If I'm going somewhere questionable, I'll toss a 17 round Glock mag in my 5.11 magazine pocket. So between 59-76 rounds... normally.

Go bag has another 4 17 round Glock mags, 2 P3AT mags, and another 50 rounds of 9mm, and 380, plus a KelTec Sub-2000 carbine with a 17 round mag (notice the lack of a +1) in the vehicle.
