NEED HELP WITH EXCEL CODE

Okay, I am trying to make an Excel Spreadsheet for something and I want it to have a "Find" box in the top. With this find box, I want to be able to type in something, and whenever it returns with the answer, I want to run and "IF THEN" to display what I want it to display.

For Example.

FIND: PHILLIP (<- THE USER TYPES THAT IN) (THEN EXCEL DISPLAYS ON ITS OWN) "DIDN'T RACE" (OR VICE VERSA)

Cell RACERS

A1 BILL

A2 JIM

A3 BILLY

A4 JOSHUA

A5 PHILLIP

A6 DANIEL

A7 TGO IS THE BEST

Question... How would I do it if something wasn't on there. Like a name didn't apper, i.e. a wrong name, and have it display what I want it to?

It was a quickie Vlookup but if that works the way you want it. Just change the data you want displayed ...Did not Race, Did Race...etc. If you add more data, you'll have to expand the range of the search value but you can just keep adding to it or changing what is displayed.

Hmmm. Hard to display null data. Would require another formula for an if statement rather than a Vlookup. And I HATE/LOATHE the old version of Excel. I have to search for the tools to use it. LOL
