Bob Pope Shows - New Venue?

I haven't been to a Pope show since he moved from the Smyrna Expo. The added distance to my drive sort of made my decision for me. :hyper:

Now I note he's aligned his shows with the Tennessee Gun Collectors Association. Will this make a difference in his shows? If the quality of his shows improve similar to that of the Alabama Gun Collectors Association shows, I'll have to make a point of going to them.

Has anyone been impressed with the Pope shows since he moved them to the Williamson County Agricultural Expo?

TIA.

I have seen very little change in his shows. Most seem to be the same dealers. The layout of the show is around the horse show area and for some reason I don't like being able to keep an eye on activity. Maybe its just me.

I do like the ease of getting to the show and parking has not been a problem.

As ou know his shows are 3 day shows but now fridays are restriced to member of a certain Gun collectors association , the name escapes me at the time. You will be allowed to sign up at the door I am sure.

Its still a better show than the Goodman show for trying to pick up collectables.

The Gun Collector's thing is a joke and a way to raise money by playing on the fears that the Demonrats will outlaw gun show (loophole) so by being a "member", the gun show is now a association "meeting".

Otherwise the show has gotten to be pretty kickass since the last show they opened up the arena floor to vendors and carpeted the dirst to get rid of the dust/dirt/mud.

Myself and ETS, Inc (Frank) have been going to the shows for almost two years now. I think it is getting better every show.

However I think the whole stupid collectors thing is just an extortion, IMHO.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll have to make the trip once and see if it woulld be worth returning to the next show.

The AGCA is a collector organization that puts on real nice shows 3 times a year in Birmingham. I thought if the TGCA is anything like AGCA, it will bring a lot of collectors to the shows with tables and provide a welcomed bit of variety instead of the same dealers show after show. I like gun dealers, wish there were more of them, but variety is nice.

Also, if I read Pope's website correctly, the TGCA would be a net money loser for him if one attended all his shows each year, free attendance for members vs. pay at the door.
