Irish Fest 2010 in Knoxville, Aug 21st

This weekend in Knoxville is Irish Fest 2010, at World's Fair Park, I probably should have said something sooner, I will certainly be there.

There will be events, music, BEER, food pretty much all day.

I should have brought this up weeks go to see if people wanted to build a team for Tug-of-War but o well, maybe next year. I go every year.

Here is the Official website, East Tennessee Irish Festival to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee

Just a Note, I am not associated with anyone putting on the event, just a fan.

Serious, if anyone from TGO shows up, I will be running around that place, we might should meet up and have a beer.

I will most likely be found around the The Irish Times area drinking Guinness

I'm there. Feast with The Beast last weekend and Irish Fest this weekend. Stop by the Downtown Brewery/Woodruff Brewing booth. The Brewmaster is a 3Gunner @ ORSA and makes several good brews.

Will you be dancing a jig or maybe a reel?

What is feast with the beast? Is that like when Fox had that Asian guy who does all the hotdog eating contests do one against a grizzly bear?

Feast with the beasts is an after hours benefit for the zoo with lots of food and beverages. It,s a fundraiser for them.

I wish I could be there, but I have to teach unruly high school kids how to play hockey as a team this weekend. Drink a Guiness or six for me and my freckles.

The real benefit is the drunken, smokin' hot women walking around wearing next to nothing.:grouchy:

BTW, Couple things

I do not know the carry rules in Knoxville Parks, I do not know if this event will be posted.

I will not be carrying for a couple other reasons. One the Great State of TN has not yet issued me a permit and I will be drinking.

BTW, if you are there and for some reason want to look me up, email me, I will have my phone on me.

no text, i won't get them.

I wish I could make the trip, but alas, I see bush hogging in my future for Saturday.

Is this a yearly event? If so, I will make plans to attend next year for sure.

BTW...I'm in on the tug of war TGO team! :)

Yes, this is the 3rd event and I have been at the previous 2. It is every August. It is for August Day which is an Irish Holiday, which isn Ireland is normally August First but we have it when we can I guess.

In America, when there is an Irish event, everyone is Irish for a day :D no papers needed.

No carry in Knoxville City Parks.

Not posted though, pre 1986 ordinance.

Somehow, everyone is supposed to know this, including folks who have never even been IN Knoxville before.

Well, I am going to report back

I had a good time, good Beer, good food, good music.

Thanks to the early morning rain we had allot of Mud to walk though.

The Fire Department did not show up for the Tug of War, so the Knoxville PD gave odds to Irish Fest Volunteers, let us have 4 extra and well will pulled them twice.

Then we broke to even sides and it started out even and I thought we where going to get it, but then we slipped and Knoxville PD pulled us.

I was one of the Irish Fest Volunteers. I am going to try to get a picture of 2 up in a few. I know my wife took a couple.

I took some videos on my phone but the size is so large I don't even think I can put them on youtube with out some serious editing.
