Is 9mm just to small?

Okay, let me start by saying that thankfully I have never had to shoot a human being. I still wonder what kind of assailants some folks expect to face who will absorb even one - much less multiple - rounds from a 9mm and just get ticked off. Hell, for that matter, I wonder about what kind of assailants folks expect to face that will take two or three rounds from a .380 using modern SD ammo without a sudden change in attitude. I mean, sure there probably are roving, male silverback gorillas high on a cocktail of crack, pcp and paint fumes here and there but geez - it's like some folks really expect it to be a common occurence that an assailant would take two or three premium 9mm defensive rounds COM then just look at them and say, "You shouldn't oughta have done that 'cause now you've really pissed me off!"

Heck, in the limited experience I do have (a couple of low-lifes trying to break in where I used to live) staring down the barrel of a 'lowly' .38 Special through the window in the front door was enough to bring about a sudden change of attitude and cause them to vacate the premises.

Guy nicknamed Moose or Tiny > Forget the handgun and reach for a 12 gauge

Fixed it.

For an AOW the stamp is 5.00 + paperwork.

But to remain legal without a tax stamp and still be considered a handgun we can go with this

If I'm gonna beat the crap outa myself anyway, might as well pony up the 5 bucks.

I picked up the Knoxx pistol grip stock that they claim reduces felt recoil 40% for my 590 Mariner. I have not put it on and tested it yet.

That appears to be an 870 and Knox makes a tactical pistol grip with over folder stock for that also.

Plain ole 870. i put hogue furniture on it just to get rid of the crappy stock recoil pad. I've almost ordered the Knoxx stock more than once. It's strictly a castle gun. Not something I'll be doing much real shotgunning with.

Yes, and when speaking of melons it should always be "two"

Thank you for correcting me.

"Of course, the real issue is where you get shot. One bullet can kill you, but believe it or not, a body can survive a lot of bullet wounds."

How come I'm not compelled to blame the caliber?

The "victim" turned a gun on the cops. Bad idea. Here's the funniest comment on that article:

"This could not have happened, because guns are illegal in NYC"

This guy was being sarcastic, but sadly there are people who really think that way!

Wow! Of course, I have to say he survived but stopped what he was doing. That's the point, really. If I am forced to fire my handgun in self defense, I don't care if the assailant is DRT or not as long as he is no longer posing a threat to me and mine. On another note, I wonder what NYPD carries. I'm guessing .40 S&W, not 9mm.

I only carry my M&P9C with a bunch of ammo so that I can let the guy get close so the extra weight will do more damage when I hit him in the face with it. I wonder if it would be easier for Mas to defend me if I had less ammo. I don't know now I may have to take some of the bullets out of the magazine, but I don't know how many to remove, I wonder if there are any trials of someone being hit with a small caliber gun and how many bullets are too many?????????????????????

if the shooter is useless than 9mm handgun in his hand is useless..but so is .45 or 44mag or 50mm Barrett
