What's the best way to carry this gun? Cocked and locked? Israeli carry? Round chambered with the hammer released and safety off? It doesn't have the safety features like 1911's. I thought I'd use this as my B/U but want to carry it safely but be able to engage it quickly.

I dunno about the best way to carry it, but how does it shoot and where did you get it?? LOL...

I would say if it is a BUG, Round chambered with the hammer released and safety off...but that is just me...

It's actually pretty accurate as far as I can tell. I got it about 10 years ago at a gun shop in NH 'cause it was all I could afford at the time.( the one in the pic is the updated model- rubber grips and a mag with one additional round. When I first got it after acouple of hundred rounds the hammer actually broke off:blush: Sent it back and they replaced it under warranty, had it back in about three weeks. Took it out yesterday for the first time in 10 years and got 3-4" groups at 7 yards:shake: but keep in mind I haven't shot ANYTHING in 10 years. Hey canyn, you can stop LYFAO now. First handgun I ever had, and thought I'd work my way up (went to Ruger p89 then a Colt .45 OACP, and finally a S&W 686 qith a 7.5" barrel) It also has the safety off in the up position, which I'm not crazy about. This stemmed from a conversation I had with a friend. He said if you need a backup why not get a high cap 9mm or .45 instead of trying to hide two guns. Some of you know I've been leaning towards a compact 1911(KImber Compact ss II, Para ccw or cco, Colt ltwt Commander and maybe a Defender. So do I carry a high capacity gun, or compact or ultra compact with less capacity but extra mags, or a compact with that swweeeet! little accu-tek:koolaid:as a B/U:confused:

OK OK I will stop laughing...IMO, I am not sure you need a BUG....but if you feel you do, and you have not put a substantial amount of ammo through this gun, you cant trust it after the hammer broke off can you??? Remember a BUG is for when your primary jams or malfunctions. if you are worried about ammo, buy extra mags and mag carriers...they are lighter...

My Kahr CW40 holds 7 rds, I carry a spare mag. I do not carry a BUG. The need for that is not a fight I want to be in..LOL...

It all depends on your lifestyle, if you are a laborer, that may bang your gun against walls and such, I would say you are gonna be pretty pissed if you bang up your 800.00 gun...

check midrange, XD, Kahr, Beretta, Taurus, even Glock...get them in the "compact" versions, but I dont think a BUG is necessary if you get a reliable gun.

agreed ^^^

IMHO a bug could take just as long pull and use as clearing a jam,etc...then you wont have thae same stopping power with the smaller cal.

+what would you do with your main gun?i would not want to drop any gun, jamed or not.

i carry extra mags.atleast 1 for my xd and atleast 2 for my single stack .45acp
