Concerning punching the fellow for no reason...

It might sound dumb, but what did you happen to be drinking at the time?

I know a lot of people say it doesn't make any difference, but from what I've seen and experienced, it does.

No matter what I'm drinking, I tend to only be an angry drinker when I figure out all the booze is gone. :P:D:bowrofl:

... or if I'm drinking vodka. Actually, "angry" doesn't quite cover that one. I more or less turn into one big ass whippin' in search of a victim. :D

Needless to say, I don't drink vodka if I have a choice in the matter...

Ok, here we go.

OCS-I know OCS is tougher but I think I would've been better at that because I got the feeling it focused more on the individual then the group. One of the things that I couldn't stand most about boot camp was spending every waking second with your platoon. I know it sounds like no big deal, but it was then that I discovered that I start to lose it if I'm around people constantly.

Causing mayhem-I will admit I have chaotic fantasies and I can't really argue much with that one.

Shouldn't be allowed to carry-I'd like to reitierate that I never said I DO have alcohol issues. I used to have problems with drunkenness and not being able to control myself once I would get started I will admit that, but these days I have one drink, or a couple beers at night, right before bed and that's it, unless I'm at a party or something where the entire point is to get drunk. Then, I'm gonna get drunk.

Not displaying the calm demeanor I think I do-There's a guy who works at the same store who comes in screaming obscenities and racial slurs every time he doesn't get a tip on a delivery. Not getting a tip doesn't bother me that much, usually you do, but sometimes you take a delivery to someone who's just a cheap bastard. It happens. I may not seem as calm as I think I do but I was certainly calmly then that, y'know, except for the whole throwing stuff incident.

Ok, if I missed anything, y'all let me know.

I was drinking a bunch of different things. Here's how this particular night went. Me, and 2 buddies decided to get those minikegs and have a race to see who could finish one first. It was close, but I lost. We all finished the minikegs and went to a bar called the Bulldog and had a few beers. Then we got a call from dude's cousin that it was free drinks from 8-10 at the Texas Club. We go there, and at this point I'm drinkin' a bunch of different things because they're free. I woke up the next day, my jaw hurt, and after a bit of thinkin' I remember my buddy deckin' me in the jaw. I go up to his apartment to ask him why he hit me, and he asks me why I hit him. I believe him that I hit first, apologize, and explain that I have no memory or idea why.

I've had plenty of times where I drink a bunch of different things, or had some ridiculous contest involving alcohol and I never got violent.

Let me see if I can explain this one a little better... I'll use myself as an example:

I have apparently scared the hell out of more people by being too calm at times.

I wasn't throwing anything around, glaring at anybody, or displaying anything that anybody would read as violent or a desire to become violent. However, I managed to project... something... that let people know the world was about to end and I was going to be the one ending it. At least for them.

It's not something I do, or even can do, consciously, but I've always been described as someone who "when he gets quiet, you'd better start worrying".

Again, I don't know what it is, or what I do, but it's certainly something that other people see clearly that I don't. And I wonder if that's not the same with you.

Make more sense?

It does make more sense, and I have given somebody that vibe, or at least I've been told I've done it only once. One of my old drinking buddies in Baton Rouge made a joke about shaving my head while I was passed out (I have hair about halfway down my back). We were in a truck and I was in the back seat. I didn't say a single word, I figured if I didn't make a big deal out of it they would forget about the idea. He turns around with his eyes like a deer and the headlights and apologizes to me with noticeable fear in his voice and then he tells he can feel how pissed off I am. I honestly don't think I've done this with any of my Domino's coworkers. If you could ask them I guarantee they'd tell you that I'm a jackass who makes stupid jokes all day.

I dunno then... either you just got the right ( or wrong ) mix to set you off, or you do indeed have a screw loose. :P

There's a lot of power in silence.

I have a theory about me and him both being primarily Scottish and Irish. The other guys I drank with were Italian, and one was Canadien. I think me and this guy are descended from rival clans from centuries ago and on some subconscious level, when I get drunk enough, I recognize that. As if I get to this level of drunkeness and this ancestral rage looks at him and just thinks, YOU! That's the best theory I got.

Maybe where you're from.

I've worked a lot of places that it wasn't any big deal at all. And no, I'm not talking about the Sheriff's office.

And I've certainly never forced anybody to talk about anything they didn't want to... so the conversation was always sociable, even if the people involved disagreed on some point or the other.

Besides, even a fight or argument is a "social interaction". :P

Oh, and even "all kinds of people" are supposed to be mature an open-minded. It's only the immature, close-minded ones that get upset when guns are mentioned. Well, those and the outright idiots.

And who wants to associate with them anyway?

J.

if you already started with your jobs talk than

being a farmer or a mall security or anything at that level will have similar kind of people doing it.

so talking about guns as much we talk here is acceptable

but soon you wont to advanced further than mall security than you have to deal with all kind of people.

and being angry is worst of worst social behavior you can encounter.

even you just bragging how you threaten your girlfriend previous lover ,that you will woop his ass and do all bunch of evil things to him.

is extremely anti social behavior

saying it on the forum is Ok but in person is not Ok.

Sorry, but "you've just got a screw loose" is a much more likely answer. :P

Just so you'll know, I am of the following ancestry:

1/2 German

1/8th Lakota Sioux

1/8th Cherokee

1/4th Irish/Dutch ( not sure of the amount on the dutch, only that my great grandmother claimed there was some in there. )

That would pretty much dictate that I'm an absolute terror when drinking, and loud and unmanageable when riled up.

The fact is though, that I'm just the opposite of that. I'm not a "berserker" at all, and am very cold and calculating when I'm angry. And although I truly don't like most of the people I meet, I don't look for a reason to come into conflict with any of them.

The whole angry drunken Scot theory was somewhat in jest. I'm primarily Scottish and Germanic, but I'm also about an 18th of everything else.

Wow... Strel's actually dumber than I thought he was. Damn.

Anyway, it's supper time here now, so I'll have to deal with him in an hour or two.

So y'al hang in there and wait for me to get back... and hope TGO David doesn't take a notion to lock the thread before then. :P
