I'm not a smart man, but we do hold a 57-19-4 advantage in fewtbawl, so I've got that going for me...

Interesting factoid.

Here's another:

SEC Football Graduation Rates

Vanderbilt 91

Ole Miss 69

Florida 69

Alabama 67

Mississippi State 63

South Carolina 60

LSU 60

Auburn 59

Georgia 57

Kentucky 55

Arkansas 52

Tennessee 52

Of course, this would be more profound if you were a Tennessee fan:D

I was really surprised about Alabama, that they do actually graduate players. Lucky for us, the world certainly needs well-qualified Sanitation Engineers and Confectionary Arts majors.

I dunno but I think if you want to argue football player graduation rates the standard would be how many are in the NFL not how many received a sheepskin at the end. Most of the players in the SEC deep down think they will play in the NFL one day regardless of the odds. I don't think most of them have any desire to graduate.

I don't think most of them have the ability to spell "graduate"...

Some of them can barely spell NFL.

But most will make more in a single season than the average idiot will in 10 years...

Who you calling 'average'?

Wait...what?

Well, to be fair, it's tough to discuss the average Vandy football fan as this is their typical turnout:

Because Vandy fans have to work.

Well, actually we own companies that a bunch of 'Bama grads work for. We're in the Bahamas, watching it on the big screen at our island cabanas.

Not gonna rub shoulders with you commoners!

How'd we get off on this subject?

Go Christmas!

Both of you get golden Zing awards for the evening.

You also both get Christopher Cross/Kansas medals for drifting this thread right to the edge of no return.

Haha, whatever - you're more remote/country than I am!

Go Christmas!

Coaches... Please raise your hand if your kids can graduate, but can barely win a football game.

To be fair, that's not unique to Vandy.

Though if you wanted to make it work, you could change 'graduate' to 'perform neurosurgery' and the veracity of your caption would remain intact regarding Vandy grads...

Bronker, it's nice to see that you finally came out of the closet.

Will you change your avatar again, to the photo of my choosing if we reach...say $5000 this time?

$5000 and I will change it for 30 days.

My plan is to start accepting donations on October 1 and doing so through Thanksgiving day. I will be opening a secondary account at my credit union to keep this money separate from my normal funds. A couple have mentioned that it would be best for them to donate now and while I really would rather you wait I may make exceptions for a few cases(send me a pm if you feel you must donate now). I just don't feel comfortable holding someone else's money for that long. I hope to have the "gifts" on their way to the recipients by December 3.

Also, if you or someone you know could use a little help this Christmas keep that in mind. I will start accepting "stories" on October 1 as well. All that are received will be added to our list unless I see something that seems dishonest, had one last year who asked for help but had just started a thread about a new gun purchase. Every person that donates will be able to read through all stories received and we will have a panel of 5 to vote on who gets what. I would like the same group as last year to do this but will leave that up to the rest of you. Last year it was; Bronker, Jeffssig, Macgyver, Gun Geek(haven't seen him around in a while) and TGO David's wife.

So if we donate $100 or more, do we automatically become TGO Benefactor? j/w

David adwarded most if not all of the donators last year benefactor status. I'm not sure where the "cutoff" was but "there ya go".
