The finish looks good. The pattern is nice.

I just don't like it. I can't put my finger on it, and that is not a negative comment on what you have done. There is just something about it that lacks definition now. I understand that is what you were going for, and great job at it. I just don't care for it.

I like the pattern, just the color is horrible.

Reminds me of ACU. That scheme doesn't blend with anything.

But nice job on the finish though.

I think it looks great! Good job.

What did you use? Rattlecan or something more sophisticated?

Thanks everyone. I used Krylon camouflage spray paint. You might be thinking the same thing I did when I first heard about people spray painting their expensive rifles.... that it was nuts. When I really sat down and thought about it I came to the conclusion that I had been treating my rifle like a safe queen; it never left the safe unless it was going right into a case, then into my trunk, then to the firing line. This thing is a weapon, a tool, a battle rifle.... so I'm done babying it. I love the look and the color now, but I am going to experiment with some different, slightly bolder, camouflage, patterns.

I first degreased the exterior of the weapon with alcohol. Then after letting it dry I applied a few light coats of tan. After those dried I took a pair of pantyhose, stretched them out and sprayed olive drab/ foliage green through it to make the patterns you see.

I hope you guys like it, but if you don't that's ok too. A tool is a tool, right?

Drop in Sunday for the Memphis Meet (1pm at Range USA) and show it off.

Not sure if you can fire it then. Usually on Friday or Saturday nights I think. Gotta have frangible ammo.

Thanks everyone. What is this meet at Range USA that was mentioned? Is it a normal thing? Any threads covering it?

Yep, it is a regular thing. The "Memphis Militia" as Jack refers to it gets together monthly @ RangeUSA. Here is the link for this month's call to arms http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/events-gatherings/44544-memphis-call-arms-august.html
