American Thinker: Free Speech Lawsuit: NYC Bans '9/11 Images'

If wikileaks can risk the lives of our soldiers, someone please

tell me why Pamela Geller couldn't get this ad to run without

a lawsuit?

It seems Bloomberg, the god of NYC doesn't like free

speech unless it fits his political agendas, one of which is to

have a mosque on ground zero. what's really funny, or sad,

is that there are muslims in NYC that do not want this

mosque to be built, either. Strange...

I guess the 1st Amendment means one thing to some, and

something quite different to another.

6.8 AR,

I'm in total agreement, it's clearly covered by the 1st Amendment. Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion (or freedom to criticize somebody else's religion). Problem is that it will take a lawsuit to get the ads run, 4 years from now, and the government employees who deny this gentleman his civil rights won't get in any trouble.... just the tax payers.

WTF?

This kind of crap is just one more example of why I'm proud to be a southerner and live in the south. And to all our TGO members who may have migrated here, welcome home.

What the hell is wrong with America...

JayC,

This wasn't meant to be some smart rebuttal to the other thread. I

thought I explained myself about that and I'm sorry if you misunderstood.

What I did mean to display was the hypocrisy that our own politicians

would stoop to, to continue an agenda. Quite frankly, the 1st Amendment

is an ancillary part of this that should have never been an issue.

Mayor Bloomberg has a strange agenda with his sharia acceptance and appeasement of muslims, instead of doing what he is supposed to do FOR

New Yorkers.

Pamela Geller is one who is in his way because she is defending the New

Yorkers who feel differently than Mr. Bloomberg. Unfortunately Mr. Bloomberg

is taking the dangerous path and the New Yorkers will eventually rebel against him.

I hope they reinstate term limits on him, next election.

Actually Ms Geller threatened the lawsuit and the city eventually

capitulated.

Bloomberg has shown his tendencies to run NYC in ways that brings to mind of Daley with Chicago. Term limits is a good thing and it's a shame NYC doesn't have them. Hey 6.8, I'm glad someone else knows about Pamela Gellar and Atlas Shrugs.

New Yorkers voted to have term limits on two occasions. But Bloomberg went to the NYC council(most could not run again because of term limits) and they overrode the will of the people and allowed themselves to run again.

History of the World Part 1 comes to mind. Mel Brooks playing King Louis saying "It's good to be the king."
